Coast Guard looks for missing gold miner
KODIAK, Alaska - The Coast Guard transported a dog search team to Adak to help locate a gold miner who has been reported missing for two weeks. Petty Officer 1st Class Thomas Schmalix, an aviation maintenance technician stationed on Kodiak Island, and his dog Kia (Kie - uh) started their search for the man soon after arriving on Adak. She spent part of her childhood in a Japanese internment camp.

Kathy!we’re having some serious thunderstorms right now as I’m typing this. They started around 4:00PM this afternoon and they’ve been running through here like a train. Some fantastic lightning bolts.
Otherwise everythibg is going well here in the state of Connecticut.
