I guess the planet Earth is the size of a marble by Monday (and very dense), we’ll pretty much know we’ve screwed the pooch.

ahhhh...but these things that he was wrong on can easily be explained by the difference between our worldline and his...;)

I think Rush says that doom and gloom is easier to believe in that a positive future...or something along those lines.

One other thing...is it me, or do a lot of the people who eat that story up seem to be left wingers?

... Meanwhile somewhere in Middle Earth... several creatures notice as “The Nothing” threatens their existence. On a different existence, the U.S.S. Enterprise is thrown through a quantum chronometric particle generator and thrown sideways into our own time line. John Titor says, “I told you so...”

I'd like to say goodbye to all Freepers and freedom lovers everywhere. By Monday all of us will have been swallowed up by a giant black hole that will eventually consume the entire solar system.

The ultimate dream of the socialists will finally be realized. Egalitarianism at it very finest. Marx would be proud.

Wouldn’t we see significant blue-shifting as the light from outside the sphere is pulled (elongated) towards us?

Either way, I’m gonna drink heavily and pray for Monday off.

Ummm no, you’re more than accurate on the assessment of “who eats that story up”....

In fact, I’ve come to the conclusion that “Conspiracy Theorists” in general of 100% of the CTers are 88% roughly of the conspiracy theorist population.

The other small percentage are moderates, kooks, and outright lunatics. There’s probably 1, maybe 2 Conservatives who happen to also be Wiccans.

The black hole will instantaneously grow to the size of the orbit of the planetoid Pluto...

If the black hole is that big (read: massive), no need to worry how it looks at Alpha Centauri because it will be inside with us!

There will be a momentary loss of electronic communications across the world as the hole starts up, but as soon as the whole world is “in” the hole, everything will be back to “normal”. We’ll still see stars and there might be some “blue shifting” in their spectroscopy but other than that, not much.............

“...Why are they doing this? Kinda spooky, I think.”

Or it could be a God laughs last moment and CERN could have a multi-billion dollar Geraldo moment.

No, not for about 30,000 more years.

Light can get there in 4 years. But mass like that can’t move as fast as the speed of light, thus, it will take a long time for Alpha C to get here

Someone claiming to be Titor has been back. Mostly to defend his wrong predictions of history as he knows it. The person claims to have contaminated the time line so his original “Fuistory” is no longer true. How convenient.

I think it would likely create a massive emp though, and most electronics would fry pretty fast.

After all, you’re sucking an awful lot of matter into this thing, and all it will be generating will be lots and lots of x-radiation type interference.

Alpha Centauri is 4.37 light years away. They won’t see it for that amount of time for the light to reach them. Once they are “inside” with us, everything will look “normal” again...............

If the Collider does create a black hole that engulfs us all, will it be instantaneous, or will we have time enough to realize what's happening? After much discussion, we decided we'd have a few seconds (in North America) to know what had happened.

If it were possible the resultant black hole would be miniscule (consider the total mass and energy being used in the collisions) - the mass of a large atom or small molecule at best. Even if it were capable of holding itself together (at that size it would dissipate almost immediately) it would absorb matter at such a slow rate that it could be tens of thousands of years before it was large enough to cause us any real problems.

I wonder what the odds on the black hole are? :)

Zero

Any black hole they do create will dissipate almost instantly

Killjoy.

Does this mean we won’t have to vote for McCain in order to zot Obama!

There is.... man I ought not to even say this here... a whole GROUP of roughly seven or eight people believed to have taken part in the story as “Titor” who “vanished” then came back to try to do a book, a movie and some other stuff.

Darby pretty much busted them. Let’s say there’s a connection some how to Disney as well, though I don’t have all the details these days and have pretty much quit following the whole thing.

Truth be told, I’ve got my own notes and book in the works. LOL
