I, too, am a “culturist”.
Yes, I must admit, I am politically incorrect.

I believe that some behaviors are acceptable and some are not.

I believe that there exists an objective standard of behavior, if complied to by everyone, would cause our society and country to succeed beyond our imaginations.

I also understand that there isn’t any such thing as “race” among humans. There are varying skintones due to the expression of melanin in the genome of a population group, but no differing “races”.

Behaviors have consequences. And this is what we see, and yes, what we JUDGE.

A business woman in my local area is Hispanic and a Democrat but won’t vote for Obama this coming November.

Is she Puerto Rican? Despite the fact that most PRs have black blood, they DENY this and go out of their way to put down other islands in the Carribbean.

Any percentage above the normative percentage of the population would be a condition of “over-representation” in the cities,

so I’m betting that all of them satisfy this condition.

DC is still majority-African American, but has been trending more white for the last decade or so, and the population has been on the upswing.

We’ve had a couple of decent mayors in Williams and Fenty, who are pro-growth and tend not to spend money like sailors on shore leave.

Population collapse, even in a one-party Democratic city, isn’t inevitable. But you need to have a population with at least some good sense, to avoid electing people like Marion Barry or Kwame Kilpatrick.

It's pretty well established that we eat too much.

And we've been told that we can't eat all that we want, drive our SUVs and keep our houses at 72 degrees year round and have the rest of the world say that's OK.

The majority of these cities have black majorities or pluralities. Scranton is the most noteworthy exception, largely populated by elderly neer do wells of Irish and Polish ancestry.

The tipping point in Cleveland was when boy wonder Mayor Dennis Kucininch took it into financial default.
I left shortly afterwards and haven’t regretted it one time.
Still a diehard Browns fan tho.....

So, you’re saying that holding people to a behaviorial standard that is proven successful for other population groups is in and of itself “racist” because the majority of those not upholding that standard have more melanin in their skin?

NO is a really exceptional case. It's tough to compare it to other cities.

What really should have happened with NO post-Katrina is that only the historic areas should have been kept functional. The rest of the city should have been allowed to return to swampland.

the Ohio cities were union where the object is to do as little as possible for more than the labor is worth. Competition runs the world. Don’t compete, become a loser.

Yeah, now it's work harder for less, as the prices of everything continue to go up, except wages.

Many Americans are now not only competing with Communist Chinese low wage peasant labor, they're also competing with upwards of 40 million low wage illegal aliens on their own soil...All supported and brought to us by the U.S. Government.

Lets not forget that automation has made much unskilled industrial labor obsolete. China has seen the single largest loss in industrial employment of any nation since adopting capitalism.

Unskilled industrial employment is what you do when your only alternative is picking fruit or working as a prostitute. Why do you thing the unskilled jobs in SE Asia are dominated by women?

i am willing to bet that in proportion to the black population of the US, these cities are overly represented in terms of black residency.

that's not an indictment, though. blacks are more likely, in this country, to be poor and therefore live in depressed inner-cities.

Why do you think the standard of living for many middle class people is declining in America? We've gone from country that was prosperous, to one where finding a secure job, filling the gas tank, affording health care, paying the mortgage, and using air conditioning are beginning to appear as luxuries for many folks.

All this while the government prints money as fast as it can, packages it, puts it on pallets, and sends it over seas.

While here at home, many attempt to compete with low wage Red Chinese peasant labor, and millions of illegal aliens on our own soil.

Actually, if you look at statistics, you see that more people have moved into the upper middle class. The children and grandchildren of those industrial workers who lived in row houses and shotgun shacks near the factories went to college and now live better off than their parents/grandparents.

I travel around this country frequently, including to some of the dumps mentioned in this article. Any young person with a brain leaves such sh-tholes for places with better opportunities. Even those who attend school in state usually wind up leaving. West Virginia has been complaining for years about how many graduates of their public universities wind up in places like Charlotte and DFW.
