Right!
But we need the FLEX FUEL to run those cars!

Along with drilling, I want coal to oil! Competition for OPEC with other sources!

Well, the kicker to that is, every time I see a “Throw the bums out!” poll, the respondents say their their own guy is just grand. They just think everybody else’s Rep needs to be sacked. That explains a consistent re-elect rate above 90%.

We have a hot water heat system (radiator) so when burning wood, it keeps it toasty warm in here. Not as much fluctation in the cycle as with gas. Of course, that’s if someone feeds the beast :) It really does burn efficiently.

griswold3, help me out with this. The “stockpile” she refers to, how much oil and how long would it last? I have a million questions about this but would you kindly answer that one - I’m trying to get better informed.

Isn’t it amazing that what the democrats are really saying is ‘No You Can’t’....not ‘Yes We Can’!

The American people are being prevented from accessing their own Natural Resources by a true Axis of Evil....Democrats...Environmental Marxists and the Main Stream Media!

Let’s take our country back!!

Good! I think a lot of people right now are just thinking of the high prices at the gas pump. My neighbor just got an oil delivery. She paid $4.40 per gallon for heating oil.

Imagine paying the same for gas and heating oil aat the same time this winter?

Pelosi: Democrats Offer Immediate Relief in 10 Days vs. Republican Plan to Save 2 Cents in 10 Years Last update: 4:46 p.m. EDT Aug. 4, 2008

WASHINGTON, Aug 04, 2008 /PRNewswire via COMTEX/ —

WASHINGTON, Aug. 4 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ — Speaker Nancy Pelosi released the following statement today on Democratic proposals to bring relief to Americans at the pump: “Democrats offered a real solution to high energy prices that would bring immediate relief within 10 days by forcing the President to free our oil from the nation’s stockpile. The Republicans propose to give away public lands to Big Oil, which will not immediately reduce the price at the pump and save Americans only 2 cents 10 years from now. This Republican hoax is unworthy of the serious debate we must have to reduce the price at the pump and promote energy independence.

“House Republicans have opposed forcing oil companies to drill on the 68 million acres they already control, new investments in renewable energy, increasing vehicle fuel efficiency standards, making mass transit more affordable, cracking down on price gouging, and releasing oil from the government’s stockpile. When it comes to energy policy, Republicans are once again promoting the interests of Big Oil and the Bush Administration that has resulted in $4 a gallon of gasoline.

Un-F'ing believable....and when the oil released from the reserves runs out, then what...prices go back up. We do not need short term scams, Nancy....WE WANT A LOG TERM SOLUTION!!!

DRILL HERE/DRILL NOW/BUILD AND EXPAND REFINERIES

Jimmy Carter said put on a sweater

Nancy Peolosi said deal with less

Barak H. Obama said inflate your tires

IOW: Jimmy Carter energy policies still rule the Democrat Party.

According Pelosi’s “argument” against drilling, why should we pass any new school or infrastructure bonds?

Why — “it will take YEARS to build the new classrooms. This is not a fix. No over-crowding will be addressed by this policy, next week or next month.

And, YaddaBlah...”

If Nancy gets to use this, we could be even more vulnerable to OPEC’s whims.

I remember the Carter Administration and the suggestion to wear a sweater.

So, longtermmemory, should I refer to my long underwear collection as “Pelosis” or “Obamas”. ROTFLOL

Sugar cane??? Well, by Joe, I think Obama might just be the answer to our prayers. Since he was born in Hawaii (or so we have been told) he probably has some great influence there. No need to drill in ANWAR. Just open up the sugar cane fields in Hawaii. Who knows maybe one of the other 6 states (from the “original” 57) has a climate conducive to growing cane. Hopefully, when Barry gives his next flippin and floppin energy speech, he will enlighten us.
