I caught that too but couldn’t figure out how to link the article (not too PC savvy - LOL). I just told Mr. Tropical if this issue comes up in conversation to point folks to that article. This is ridiculous.

$600 for 150 gallons of heating oil we paid for last month takes a big bite out of the budget! Winter is gonna be tough.

Very funny writeup here, Treading on Air

In response to almost $4 a gallon gas, Nancy Pelosi sent Congress on vacation for the rest of the summer without a vote on more domestic oil drilling. On the bright side, 74 new post offices were named!

But House Republicans -- in an unprecedented move called 'opposing the Democrats' -- were back on the floor Monday to continue their protest which started Friday when dozens of Republicans, in response to Pelosi's decision to adjourn, took to the floor in protest instead of solving the energy problem by inflating their tires! The Comprehensive Tire Pressure Gauge Plan is so stupid an idea, Obama came up with it. ..............

It's an outstanding article and great to see it posted on this thread. The link is Pelosi: At-risk Dems back drilling. I don't know if it's been posted as a separate thread, but it should be.

You folks who use heating oil have my sincere sympathies. It's going to be a long winter. :-(

It’s going to be a very cold winter. 275 gallons fuel oil = $1019.

Thanks again for all you do, eeev...and for the fun, fabulous and fierce fighting force of FReepers! (so I like alliteration)

From National Review:

Throw-the-Bums Out Mood [Kathryn Jean Lopez]

Gallup:

In a year when approval of Congress has reached a new low, just 36% of U.S. registered voters say most members of Congress deserve re-election…Gallup has found ratings in the neighborhood of the current 36% in three other election years — 1992, 1994, and 2006. All of these years brought about significant change in the membership of Congress.

“When they start talking about “educating” the public, you know it’s time to start paying closer attention to them”

We will all end up in ‘re-education’ camps if the dems get their way.

Everybody: Can you make some calls? How about emailing a link to this thread to anyone who buys gasoline?

... all “working families” need to vote for the party that best stands for actual workers as it works to prove it!

There is a new Petition!

It’s a good article. But I’m not surprised high-net-worth Nancy is out of touch. I hope the politicians are getting a earful from their constituents back home.

Ok, on the thread and ready to start calling. Hopefully we can keep up enough momentum to force a vote. What is going to give us good coverage today is the fact the idiotic Moveon.org is going to protest and bring the media out and shine the spot light on this little shindig. Maybe we should thank them for making this a legitimate event in the eyes of the people!
