They have stayed to fight the fight, it is our turn to stand with them.
I urge ALL of you to come to YOUR HOUSE in Washington, DC and stand with our Representatives Leading this call for Energy Independence. You do not need permission or an invitation.

We need to build refineries to refine our oil that we drill too.
I find it shameful that we have not built a refinery since 1972.
But we have been expanding and upgrading the refineries we have.
The increases in refined product production from our existing refineries are about equal to a new refinery a year.

LOL...That’s what the dems are trying to sell,tax and regulate now....AIR!!
There were people, Freepers, with the fear that this wouldn’t catch on. If it had been planned, maybe it wouldn’t have but the spontaneity of it just lit people. And then the public inspired the Reps to continue. This is exactly how it’s supposed to work. :)

There hasn’t been a new refinery built in the U.S. since 1976,
the result of extremely tight environmental restrictions, not-in-my-back-yard community opposition, and the high cost of new construction.
Used refineries currently sell for about 30 to 50 percent of the cost of building a new one, so it’s cheaper to buy an old refinery and upgrade it. Or squeeze a little more gasoline out of the refineries you already own.
Expansion of refining capacity is also made more difficult because oil refineries are a lot more complicated to build and operate than your average widget factory. For starters the raw material — crude oil — has many different properties, from thickness to sulfur content, so not all refineries can blend just any barrel of crude.
In addition to that, there are too many different formulations, dependent on the section of the US the products are consigned to and the individual states rules and compacts. Congress canfix that, but it will take some guts that are sorely lacking in this crew!

Here in Wyoming the BLM (Chris Hansen - Director of the Buffalo BLM office) is doing everything in their power to shut down EXISTING drilling for Coal-Bed Methane(Natural Gas).
The excuse is the Sage Grouse population going down. Must be why Wyoming INCREASED the bag limit on the birds during hunting season.
Like they say here in the West: You have Pine Pigs(USFS), Prarie Pigs (BLM), and Park Pigs (NPS) and none of them are your friends....
Oh yes, over 8,000 now.
That made me laugh!
Another Freeper said these guys treat the areas as their own personal fiefdom. Sad.
Their logic always seems to fall short of being reasonable. I could ask myself or someone who’s willing to admit being for their agenda just why that is but why bother when I already know what I know. When they start talking about “educating” the public, you know it’s time to start paying closer attention to them, however apprehensively.
