Interesting. Our “handmaiden warriors of Big Oil”, or whatever Pelosi called them, must be more significant than the mainstream media’s dismissal of them would appear. Soros sends out his Moveon.org goons to counter-protest an insignificant event? I don’t think so.

The upside is that this will probably force a reluctant media to give our Congressional rebels the coverage they’ve been deserving.

I’ll be inside coordinating information with radio shows and member interviews. Who is going to run point on the outside counter-protest? Whomever that is, please send me a FReepmail so we can establish commo on the ground between us inside folks and you outside folks. It may be a good idea to have some of the more brave folks (perhaps even members... I’ll have to discuss with staffers first thing tomorrow) to go out and debate the moon bats (that’ll provide sound bytes!). Whatever works, but we need to get on the same sheet... we don’t want to miss coverage opportunities. Please advise.

MoveOn plans to ‘push back hard’ against House GOP

"Liberal group MoveOn.org is urging its supporters to “push back hard” against House Republicans who have been seeking to pressure Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) to allow a vote on offshore drilling.

Although the House is in recess, several Republicans on Friday and Monday have taken to the floor of the chamber to discuss the country’s energy woes and demand that Pelosi bring back the House and give the GOP an up or down vote on expanding domestic oil production.

Now MoveOn is planning to get involved.

“Republicans have been escalating their attacks on [Democratic presidential candidate Sen. Barack Obama (Ill.)] and the Democrats over oil drilling, and we need to push back hard,” the group said in an e-mail to supporters, asking them to come to a 4 p.m. rally at the Capitol.

“Speaker Pelosi blocked their plan because it won't help lower gas prices—but it will line the pockets of Big Oil executives, the same people donating millions of dollars to Republicans,” the e-mail said. “But Republicans are working hard to make it seem like they're fighting for cash-strapped commuters—and not the oil companies who wrote their plan.”

The group plans to point to the ties between the GOP and Big Oil.

“We’ve invited the media, and having a good crowd is critical to show them that voters don’t want oil industry gimmicks—they want real solutions like alternative energy to solve our energy crisis,” the e-mail said.

MoveOn acknowledged that “Republicans have been dominating the debate around gas prices for weeks with their sham drilling plan,” adding that the House protest is “getting a lot of press coverage.” "

I knew this was going to happen. Our side needs to organize a HUGE rally outside the House within the next couple of weeks. I know that Sean, Rush and Levine would push it for us. We need thousands of people to show up and demand to make our country energy independent of terrorist countries by drilling here, drilling now. Can anyone get on the Sean Hannity, Rush Limbaugh, Mark Levin or Glenn Beck shows to let our case for drilling here, drilling now be heard? And can that same person (or people) put the call out for a huge rally at the House in the next few weeks? This is a golden opportunity that we need to capitalize on, if we can organize and move fast.

I’m here at the Capitol right off of the House floor. Rousing speeches, ROARS of cheering and applause—Duncan Hunter got a standing ovation. The tours are being put through the House chamber, so they’re sitting in the member’s seats on the floor as well as in the gallery.

Historic stuff. I’m hearing there will be over 100 GOP members back by Thursday/Friday.
