At age 64, well into her retirement from the Army, Frances Rice is at the center of a contentious campaign on race and politics -- and she has never been happier.
Frances Rice, 64, grew up in Atlanta. She says growing up in poverty and segregation set her against the Democratic Party. Now, as she works to bring blacks to the ranks of the GOP, she says she feels that she is making a difference in politics. But her tactics are not winning everyone over. The leader of the Sarasota-based National Black Republican Association is a minority within a minority. Not only is she black, she is also a Republican, a member of a party to which fewer than 10 percent of black voters in Florida belong. Her campaigns -- including one meant to foil the nomination of the first black presidential candidate, Barack Obama -- are best known for their shock value.
Her messages have brought condemnation from Democrats. But they have also sparked a backlash among many Republicans.

I just joined. I hope everyone else does too. She needs and deserves our support. This is the kind of lady we need in office, rather than the pansies we have now.
Just because the truth hurts, that does not mean that it should not be spoken. The women knows and remembers all to well that it was the Democrat party that represented slavery and regretted it’s demise with legislation and laws that held made African Americans second class citizens in their own country.
The rest of your county would do well to remember what the mainstream media and Democrat party would like everyone to forget. They can rewrite history, but they can’t change the facts.
Civil Rights Legislation passed in 1964.
Votes by party
The original House version:
Democratic Party: 152-96 (61%-39%)
Republican Party: 138-34 (80%-20%)
The Senate version:
Democratic Party: 46-21 (69%-31%)
Republican Party: 27-6 (82%-18%)
The Senate version, voted on by the House:
Democratic Party: 153-91 (63%-37%)
Republican Party: 136-35 (80%-20%)
Votes by Region:
Southern Democrats: 7-87 (7%-93%)
Southern Republicans: 0-10 (0%-100%)
Northern Democrats: 145-9 (94%-6%)
Northern Republicans: 138-24 (85%-15%)
The Senate version:
Southern Democrats: 1-20 (5%-95%) (only Senator Ralph Yarborough of Texas voted in favor)
Southern Republicans: 0-1 (0%-100%) (this was Senator John Tower of Texas)
Northern Democrats: 45-1 (98%-2%) (only Senator Robert Byrd of West Virginia opposed the measure)
Northern Republicans: 27-5 (84%-16%) (Senators Bourke Hickenlooper of Iowa, Barry Goldwater of Arizona, Edwin L. Mechem of New Mexico, Milward L. Simpson of Wyoming, and Norris H. Cotton of New Hampshire opposed the measure)
Republicans gave more support to that legislation, than Democrats did and all the Southern Republicans voted in favor of the legislation.
The black Ann Coulter. Gotta love it.
Typical Republicans. Blacks should start working with the Constitution Party.
The one thing the Dems hate, really hate, more than anything else is a Black person who leaves the liberal plantation and starts thinking for his or her self. It just drives the libs crazy.
“She is so politically active that tax lawyers question why the NBRA has nonprofit status.”
Not cool. Regardless of her political orientation, she needs to follow the law. Period.
For everyone asking, here is her group’s website.
http://www.nationalblackrepublicans.com/
As long as she keeps activities 'issue oriented' versus towards endorsing a specific candidate, she is following the law.
I wonder why she would have flunked his class? Is what she was saying flat out wrong, or did he just have a different opinion on it? If it's the former, he should have taken the time after her call to give some evidence of that, and the article likely would have mentioned that. If it's the latter, then a class taught by him wouldn't be worth taking, anyway.
Now here is a woman I could embrace as a VP pick, but of course she won’t be picked. What a shock to the Obamaosama crowd if McCain would actually engage his brain and pick someone like this for VP. What a woman of courage and intelligence. He** I would vote for her for President.
Not cool. Regardless of her political orientation, she needs to follow the law. Period.
I would say the answer to the questions the tax lawyers put is that she isn't politically active and that is whey she has nonprofit status. I think this is so because I use my brain whereas some of the posters on FR seem to have, temporarily at least, lost the use of theirs.
I love those titles and she is right on the money in her approach. Not only is she telling the truth on the liberal Democrats she is doing the one thing that has needed doing for a long time. You need to show how radical the Democrat party is on attacking God, normal sexual and family relationships, America and its troops, and enslaving minorities into permanent government dependence.
This lady is a gem. If Republicans took more hard line tactics they’d at a minimum keep people from voting Democrat even if they don’t vote Republican.
Article titles included “Democrats
embrace their child molesters,” and “Top 10 Democratic sex scandals in Congress,” and “Democrats wage war on God.”
Rice shows no intention of backing down. Her personal history of growing up in poverty under segregation is her fuel.
“This is the first time in my life that I have felt I am actually doing something about what the Democrats have done in the past and are doing now to black people,” Rice said. “If the Democrats had left us alone after the Republicans freed us from slavery we wouldn’t be having this discussion today. They are keeping blacks in virtual slavery.”
This lady is great. Now if only her and the
www.nationalwhiterepublicans.com
could just form a partnership...oh wait, there isn’t any such group. This lady proclaims her racism by the little descriptor ‘Black’ in National Black Republicans. Not even Republicans of Color, or G/B/L/TG Republicans (ewww), but based solely on race. Kind of like affirmative action programs.
This lady is using the race card...its amazing how much more palatable it becomes when its percieved to be in your favor...what a great weapon, eh?
ping
And see how the party treats her! It’s a disgrace! Here is a woman who tells the truth, but because she doesn’t sugar coat it, the ____ party hangs her out to dry.
This is the first time in my life that I have felt I am actually doing something about what the Democrats have done in the past and are doing now to black people, Rice said. If the Democrats had left us alone after the Republicans freed us from slavery we wouldnt be having this discussion today. They are keeping blacks in virtual slavery.
The problem with this is that she is STILL JUST POINTING A FINGER.
NO GROUP in AMERICA has the power to DENY ANOTHER GROUP THEIR RIGHTS, legally, and in public. The outcry would be massive.
Blacks keep Blacks where they are. Not some mythical boogey man called the “Democratic Party.” I believe that Democrats may use Blacks, when politically expedient, but Democrat programs have done far more to help them...you only have to grasp what is offered you in America to succeed, whether that success is being a blue collar tradesman and making 40 grand a year as a journeyman, or you can choose the unlimited wealth that is there for the taking with nothing but hard work and a idea. No college even required. Or even just hard work, if you work really, really hard and save/invest like crazy.
We’d get a lot further if instead of playing this silly finger pointing game, we emphasized the fact that people are ultimately responsible for THEIR LOT. I’m 29, “own” a house (with a fixed rate mortgage even! how did I avoid getting taken advantage of? Must be my reading comprehension) , have a paid off old truck, a newish car, a wife in medical school...thats my lot, and I worked my fingers into calloused claws wiring houses to do it, and my wife might as well have books for a face. I could have just sat, and waited, but I didn’t know many (any) people who weren’t born with wealth who had it thrust into their laps, while sitting around bemoaning their fate.
Can anyone name anyone/any institution/gov body of any influence or power that is dedicated to keeping Blacks down? The anti-Black channel on cable? Nope, not one. The 24 hours news channel that covers nothing but Black crime? Nope, not one of those either. How about the non-profit thats dedicated to keeping them down? I’m sure we all donate thousands to it. Or the many, many gov programs aimed at bringing the Black man low through his weak spot...free stuff, apparently. Nope, nothing but opportunity and choice for EVERYONE in America.
“she isn’t politically active”
Say again?!
DU might be a better place for you, newb.
