Weather forecasters on Sunday predicted thunder and rain in Beijing on the day of the Olympic opening ceremony and warned that typhoons could disrupt events in other host cities.
Organisers have repeatedly said rain is their biggest worry ahead of Friday's opening ceremony, which will feature more than 10,000 performers and a massive fireworks display.
But top officials from the Beijing Meteorological Bureau confirmed that bad weather was certain for the August 8, although they held out hope that the skies may clear for the evening ceremony...

Gotta wonder if someone up there isn't pleased. Anyway, here's a picture of a rehearsal for the opening ceremonies:

They won’t want to eat, drink or speak freely, but at least those attending the games will be able to breath the air once the rains have washed some of the pollution away.

That's funny. (And a bit of truth too, so not all that funny in a way.)
I saw one yesterday that had an individual standing in front of a wall. He was shot, and the wall went red around him, and he crumpled with the Olympic white silhouette remaining. Very clever.

The javelins, discuses and shotputs should go miles. Heh, heh. Koreans should consider staying inside during those events.
