Breaking - child is fine.
Nice. You have the who, where, and presumably the when down pat. How about the what, why, and how?
Which cable network?
BOSTON — An FBI spokesman says the man accused of kidnapping his 7-year-old daughter during a supervised visit in Boston was taken into custody Saturday in Baltimore, Maryland.
Special Agent Rich Wolf of the FBI’s Baltimore field office says Clark Rockefeller was taken into custody by FBI agents and Baltimore police. He did not provide any details of the arrest.
The whereabouts of his daughter, Reigh Boss, were unclear.

I’m watching Fox.
How stupid can you get?
Every time I hear of one of these things, I wonder what the divorce settlement was like.
I don’t like the idea of a guy breaking loose and doing something like this, but it does cause me to wonder what precipitated it.
Don't know where you are but this is a big story in Boston.Little girl kidnapped,in Boston,by her father (who had,for some reason, lost his "joint custody" rights) after a supervised visit. He's said to be very wealthy and was thought to be on a yacht taking the girl to some Caribbean island.
I heard he surrendered and also heard he was arrested in a rented room. Maybe he surrendered in the rented room?
Yep, the story has been non stop on all the cable networks.
Something I heard that could be a factor was that he had lost joint custody and the mother was planning to take the kid to England to live.
What really angers me, is the courts will actually let her do it.
He has the obligation to pay support up until the kid is 18, and the mom has no obligation to him at all. Period!
If that is true, this guy is simply a cash cow, lowest of the low...
I don’t really get it. It seems like a custody situation, not like a real kidnapping. Seriously, is the guy a pedophile, or abuser? Otherwise, what’s the big story? If a judge takes away your parental rights, it’s nothing. But if you ignore the order, you’re a kidnapper? IMHO, if the guy’s a decent parent, it’s just a marital spat. Someone’s gonna get the child, and someone’s gonna get the shaft, and the father just decided to be the former someone.
Unless the father is some sort of deviant.
If I’m not mistaken, isn’t there a statue of Washington in Baltimore, as well?
Clark Rockefeller isn’t his real name - his wife doesn’t even know his name. It will be interesting what comes out about this guy - especially his past.
I can't say that I'm 100% certain that what I've said here about the case is completely accurate.I haven't followed the case all that closely even though it's been story #1 around here for a week or more.
But if I have an accurate view of the case the first thing I'd ask is why he lost joint custody and why was he only allowed supervised visits.I'd assume it's because of some kind of accusation made against him.Abuse/misconduct accusations maybe? If this is the case...are the accusations legitimate or were they the product of a sick mother seeking unfair advantage in the courts?
If they're not legitimate then I agree that it's wrong for the mother to move the kid that far away...assuming that was her intention.
[How stupid can you get?]
He could have hidden at Rockefeller Center in Manhattan.
I agree with that, and I understand we’re just addressing an academic point. I appreciate the response.
Every year there are up to a dozen instances where a father murders the child/children to take revenge on the mother. There was even an instance where the father took the children from a visitation, took off cross country, and murdered the children along the highway. He could not remember where he left their bodies, and he committed suicide.
It took the anguished mother years to find and bury the bodies of her children. So, do not diminish the importance of the risk when a parent takes a child without a legal right to do so.
