Well FReepers, we've been played like a fine-tuned fiddle. The Pubbies in the house let us down again;. A swell publicity stunt to get drilling going again, and it turns out they were just screwing with us about having a set of rocks.
They deserted us at the first sign of shot. And we ran up a multi-thousand post thread in hopes that they final got it.
They did not. They screwed us. Again.
Waste of keystrokes.
Perhaps you would explain your post because I am one second away from hitting the abuse button.
Then click it. If you don’t get that we’ve been had, then it’s your hard luck. Please, hit that magic button and spare us all.
Is this post a tribute to yourself or what?
You sound surprised.
Just wait until McMaverick-reaching-across-the-aisle is in office, if he wins.
Click?
You’re an idiot.
Tell yourself that. We just got screwed, and our thousands of phone calls were just fodder. Stop being such a rube.
We'll see how this gets reported.
Republicans end revolt in time for dinner?
You probably haven’t read the news. Some of the House Republicans stayed after the Democrats recessed for a 5-week vacation. It was a revolt of sorts, but they gave up after several hours. I think the poster is upset, because the Republicans who participated in this mini-revolution didn’t stay. There was hope they would convince President Bush to call Congress back for an emergency session. It’s a bit of a disappointment to me, too. It comes across as a publicity stunt rather than a stand on principle.
the anti-liberal: “Republicans end revolt in time for dinner?”
Well, it appears so. Yes.
Sure. Show me how.
Both the House and the Senate recessed for five weeks and headed back to their districts, or golf outings, or off on vacation or God only knows where. They didn’t pass any energy bills. They didn’t exhibit any concern with legislation that would show they have the least tiny little bit of synchronization with American taxpayers, 71% of whom say they want offshore drilling and they want it started now. Instead, they just locked their office doors and left town. House Speaker Pelosi ordered the House chamber lights dimmed, even though Republicans were still in there and had stayed behind to discuss energy matters. Not much they can do without a quorum though except perhaps strategize. If I were any of the politicos, I’d be afraid to come back to my district and face voters. But not these politicos. After all, they think they know everything about everything and just can’t seem to be bothered about what We the Peoples think.
Expect a video of voices in the dark. They have enough to really, really skewer the Demos. Good job done by all.
I didn't take part in it.
Besides, you're the one doing all the whining.
What do you want from us....more crying towels?
If this thread is out of line, and your sisterhood chimes in, then it will be pulled post-haste. Enjoy it while it lasts.
I'm right on this one.
I’d like to see Bush show some stones and do whatever he can to jump start this and pull congress back to work ... declare an emergency of some sort over oil ,, order areas to be opened up ,, re-allocate all Army Corp of Engineers assetts to ANWR...
Somehow, I expect you are also sitting down, comfy, tapping away on a computer.
They got some attention, they are asking the President to Invoke Article 2, Section 3 and call the Congress back into session, and we’ll see where it goes.
Now, they would like some dinner and maybe a cold beer. We’ll see where it goes. One thing’s for sure, it won’t go anywhere without continued strong support from regular folks.
