A young man beheaded in a savage knife attack on a Canadian cross-country bus has been identified by friends as a "bubbly" 22-year-old man.
Canadian police have not yet formally confirmed the victim's identity, but friends paid tribute on Facebook and in e-mails to Canadian media.
One told broadcaster CBC that Tim McLean, the presumed victim, was loved by many and called him a "ladies man".
Police have charged a 40-year-old man with second-degree murder.
Vince Weiguang Li, 40, of Edmonton, is now scheduled to appear at court in Manitoba.

Pretty much what I was thinking.
If the white guy cut the chinese guys head off and held it in front of everyone, he would be called a racist, and every liberal do gooders group in the world would be clamoring for his head!!!!
Not premeditated? LOL!
Oops!! Sorry, old chap, I meant to stab the guy in the seat behind you!
they don’t allow guns up there.
The bus driver and the trucker that kept him at bay in the bus should have beat him to death with the crowbar....
report was the perp was “white”, not “profiling here” but that name sure doesn’t sound like your average “white canadian”
Looks like an ordinary any town kid.. :( My heart goes out to his family.
The man charged with second degree murder in the bizarre killing and decapitation of a man on a Greyhound bus made his first court appearance Friday morning. |
This was in Canada. Your point is well taken however.
Poorly sourced suggests Chinese Muslim.
Also, radio reports that he was cutting off pieces and eating them.
Ping
Could we have both with Uighur?
They opened the doors in that country decades ago and have let all kinds of trash into a once proud country.
America’s future the way we are going...
That's the rule in only a minority of jurisdictions, IIRC from law school. Most jurisdictions require more than that to bump a murder up to 1st degree. Most Canadian provinces are common-law jurisdictions, so they probably follow the majority rule.
It could also be that this guy is pretty nuts, so that it would be tough to prove that he has the requisite mental state to commit 1st degree murder.
But the prosecution probably has the option of dropping these charges and re-filing this as 1st degree, if they get more evidence.
Huh? Given that this is Canada, and the killer is Asian, he is either most likely a legal immigrant (Canada has few illegal immigrants) or a native-born Canadian.
Since there is effectively no death penalty in Canada there is zero chance of that save some prison justice happening. Probability on that is low too. At worst this guy is back on the streets in 25 years.
>> This is just more of the benefits of wide open
>> immigration and the mindless pursuit of diversity.

So? What is the oposition between “wide open immigration” and “legal immigration”? It’s quite the confirmation actually. And if he is a native-born Canadian, then the “wide open immigration” is credited with his forefather’s arrival to Canada.
It’s funny how someone said “more likely schizophrenic then Muslim”. You know, it’s way more common for Muslims to go out stabbing and beheading people then schizophrenics. Of course the schirophrenia lobby is weaker then the Muslim, so it’s safer to pin the assumption on that disease.
I’m betting on Uighur. Muslim Chinese.
You're both right.
I was so upset I didn't do a very good job of making my post very clear.
The point and connection I didn't make very well is that the PC mindset that most likely brought this man to Canada (legally or illegally) is the same as we see happening here in the USA.
There don't seem to be many standards in either country for legal immigration (with the possible exception of Caucasians), and of course illegal immigrants enter with no controls whatsoever.
How long before we read some convoluted charges that the killer himself is the real victim here because of the failures of western culture?
