Not Even At $10 A Gallon?

Posted on 08/01/2008 4:56:31 AM PDT by Joiseydude

YouTube video of Sen.McConnell on the floor of the senate offering an amendment to a drilling bill which sets a triggering point, the price of gas at the pump, at which offshore drilling can start. With each modification of the triggering point, a higher triggering point of price per gallon, a DemocRat raises and objects.

It’s amazing to me how the rats continue to keep themselves in this trap - almost by choice.

This was very telling. I saw this first on Fox News and wondered why Mitch was going higher and higher. Then I got it! It did not take long before the clip made it to Youtube.

BTW, the Senator who was objecting was Ken Salazar of Colorado who portrayed himself as a conservative in order to beat Pete Coors and has turned out to be one of the most liberal Senators in the Senate.

They are banking on some poll they did saying only 25% of the people want drilling.
I don't know where they got that poll. Everybody I talk to says DRILLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL NOW AND FAST! ! ! !

They sucker punched the Demoktatz. He raised the trigger point slowly and methodically and each time the suckers fell for it. Now they have enough video to show the American people that the Dems DO NOT CARE if gas goes to $10 a gallon or more!.............Look for this in campaign ads all across the nation...................

Sadly those idiots are setting us up for a war for oil. When the price does approach $10 a gallon and the economy is in free fall the country is going to demand a quick fix no matter what it takes.

Almost?.....It IS by choice! They could do the right thing, but they won't. They are on a short leash held by George Soros and Kos. The enviro whacko lobby has their hand on the leash as well. They cannot do what is right because they will lose money or face primary challengers or both..............

I saw that yesterday on hotair. McConnell did a masterful job of suckering Salazar. There’s campaign material there for the next couple of years.

Every voter ought to watch this video. Is someone distributing stickers consumers can put on gas pumps that read something like: High gas prices - thank a Democrat.

The video appears to be manufactured because the time stamps do no match Salazar’s objections to McConnell’s motions. This is not a good way to formulate an argument that won’t be irretrievably dismissed.

Yikes, my error. I didn’t notice CSPAN rotating the time stamp to reflect time zones.

But if the Dumblecrats are in control, which is what they are banking on, there will be no war.
Instead you will be demonized for being “greedy” and “selfish” for demanding lower fuel prices. Why, EU countries have paid this much for years, so suck it up and shut up.
[or words to that effect.]

I am waiting for that with fetid breath.

You KNOW its coming.

“They could do the right thing, but they won’t. They are on a short leash held by George Soros and Kos. The enviro whacko lobby has their hand on the leash as well.”

And yet when the oil companies meet with Bush, they are accused of collusion and corruption.

I have yet to hear such charges leveled.

Maybe they should be.

“Look for this in campaign ads all across the nation...................”

We will beat the Demorats if we are smart enough to use this issue effectively.

From “Three Days of the Condor” - They got the good guys and bad guys reversed.

Higgins: It’s simple economics. Today it’s oil, right? In ten or fifteen years, food. Plutonium. Maybe even sooner. Now, what do you think the people are gonna want us to do then?

Joe Turner: Ask them?

Higgins: Not now - then! Ask ‘em when they’re running out. Ask ‘em when there’s no heat in their homes and they’re cold. Ask ‘em when their engines stop. Ask ‘em when people who have never known hunger start going hungry. You wanna know something? They won’t want us to ask ‘em. They’ll just want us to get it for ‘em!

Nonsense. If they try that tactic with a collapsing economy and social upheaval in the offing they know they will be swept away for a generation. If they don’t end up with the “Mussolini Treatment”....

Brilliant move on his part -

the way to defeat the left is to expose the left.

There is no way the majority of Americans can side with the true leftist agenda. They know it. That’s why they are so deceptive about it.

Once in a while you can draw them out, or they’ll slip after being in a lefthanded circlejerk long enough to think that everyone else agrees with them.

Sorry, I have a little problem with this.

If gas prices were strictly based on market forces, of course this would be idiocy. But the oil companies have a hand in setting the prices -- a big one. So they get to manipulate whether or not they get to drill.

Find a measure in which the oil companies do *not* have a hand and I'm in.
