Barack Obama wrote his senior thesis at Columbia University on Soviet nuclear disarmament. Inquiring people have sought a copy of this thesis to no avail. Columbia says it cannot be found; Barack Obama says he lost it.
How likely is that a person so impressed with himself that he writes an autobiography just a few years later would "lose" his senior thesis? After all, a Presidential Library must be filled. And as Jim Geraghty at National Review and others have noted there are a lot of blank spots -- missing records and the like -- having to do with Barack Obama.
But one question remains. If Barack Obama devoted a year researching and writing about Soviet nuclear disarmament, how could he fail to get the facts down about the Kennedy-Khrushchev meeting in Vienna?
Maybe there are good reasons he wants to bury this thesis. Did he get it wrong there,too? Did he just coast at Columbia on his interesting background and personal charm?

I’m not sure what the practice was at Columbia for senior theses while Obama was there.
When I went to Harvard, honors candidates wrote a senior thesis, but unlike PhD dissertations only a select few of these theses were chosen to be stored in the library. (Mine was selected.)
But it’s a bit hard to believe that Obama didn’t keep a copy, considering how much he loves himself.
Maybe it’s with the Rose Law Firm billing records and the files that were snatched from Vince Foster’s office. Democrats can make things disappear and are assured the MSM will cover for them.
Maybe that was the paper he left on the wall in Jerusalem?

I have a copy of my senior thesis.
You never know when it might come in handy.
But it’s a bit hard to believe that Obama didn’t keep a copy, considering how much he loves himself.
(Years spent drooling over his own brilliance, I mean.)
I don’t think one needs to be a “conspiracy theorist with a SciFi bent” to come to those conclusions. All the existing “facts” that coalesce around the Obama phenomenon support something very similar to your formulation..
Obama is literally a construct, and has happily found that he doesn’t need to be much more than that to gain a huge following that vows it will vote for him, and a major Political Party to support and protect him in his quest for the Presidency. And that enumeration of “secret” documents, never released, never discussed, never probably to be released, makes me think of how many other Dems have managed to do an end-run around these issues, and how they get away with it, and continue to get away with it.
But that list of Obama’s is more comprehensive by a mile than anything surrounding Clinton or John Kerry. It’s just mind-boggling.
