REMAINS of a mysterious "creature" washed up on a Long Island beach have set websites in United States abuzz with speculation about its origins.
Hot on the heels of new claims from an ex-NASA astronaut about aliens visiting Earth, news of the find has excited conspiracy theorists around the world.
Dubbed the Montauk Monster after the Long Island town where it was found, the creature has prompted speculation it was part of a secret mutant breeding program undertaken by the US Government.
The Huffington Post has even given the creature its own blog.

It ain’t no turtle. Turtles don’t have any skeletal support without their shells and they’d be nothing but raw meat and guts outside their shells - butcher a snapping turtle sometime and see what I mean.
I vote for the dog or pig hypothesis. This critter has lost part of it’s snout and the septum is visible - not a beak. Beaks are two-part arrangements with a lower cutting surface to match the upper. This critter has a jaw with teeth - the upper teeth are under the remaining flesh.
I don’t know how I got on the crypto ping, I’ve never asked for it, but please take me off.

I kind of thought that, but on TV they pointed out that it had teeth. I’m thinking turtles don’t have teeth, but maybe some sort does.

Wow, that’s a great theory! One thing I always notice is that the photos are never great. If I found something like that I would photograph it in different positions and from different angles to show all of the anatomy. No one ever does, which makes me very suspicious.
