I’m not voting for McCain, he keeps finding new reasons for me to distrust him.

Another betrayal at the hands of McCain in the works.
Lest he forget that those of us who are “self employed” pay DOUBLE the SS tax...
Not cool, not cool at all. My income is falling - so the last thing I need is for a larger chunk of that remaining to be taken.

I’ll say it again, give the voter a choice between a half-ass and a full ass liberal and the total ass wins every time.

I don’t know what people are expecting here. There is no way we can pay the money due to people without a tax increase or a major cut in benefits. If I had to pay in for 40 plus years so some other schmoe can get a check then damn skippy I want it back.
Either that or let me out now and they can keep it and we’ll call it even.

I’m the laughing stock of the week. I used “Obama wants to raise taxes on your Social Security” bit the last two weeks as an argument as to why one should NOT vote for Obama. Incidentally won most of them over to Mcain’s side.

McCain was gaining ground in the polls.
Of course he's going to say something stupid.

RINOs loose nationally (IMHO).
The conservatives understand that. The liberals even understand that. But McCain doesn't.
McCain is a flip flopping left of center (within the conservative camp) political reincarnation of Bob Dole. Like Dole, McCain can't connect to voters and is too old, but unlike Dole, he stands a good chance at alienating his own base, may it be with taxes, the boarder........

McCain: Read my lips! "I cannot tell you what I would do ..."
[When the Dem candidates change positions, they are accused of flipflopping. When the Pubbies do it, they are said to be refining their positions.]
The real point is: You cannot trust McCain on what he says today, as he may change positions tomorrow.

I don’t buy into the premise that Conservatives were shocked and outraged by this latest flipflop. Conservatives already knew what he was like and this would come as no surprise at all.

Hey, John - if you want to be Obama Lite - go right ahead! Americans will prefer the genuine article if they want tax increases.

McCain is the lesser of two evils, but comments like his latest continue to blur the distinction between him and Barry. At some point it will be hard to tell them apart.

The election is not about McCain. It is a referendum on Barry. We can't roll over and give up to Barry. As far as the tax comment, it is like Bush 41 “read my lips, no new taxes”. In McCain's case, he will likely have a veto-proof LibDem Congress who will propose taxes, tease McCain to try to veto, then blame McCain for higher taxes. It's a moot point. Taxes are up to Congress. McCain will only have the Bully Pulpit. Let's hope he takes advantage of it and take the message to the voters like Reagan. I'm exercising my audacity to hope that Barry is roundly defeated.
