McCain enlists "Blackhawk Down" pilot to attack Obama July 28, 2008 12:37 PM The McCain campaign this morning is trying to stir up outrage over Obama's cancelled visit with injured troops in Ramstein, Germany, last week.
Senator Obama's campaign has had about a dozen reasons as to why they were unable to visit the troops. My understanding from the Pentagon is that the Obama campaign was more than welcome to have Senator Obama go in his official capacity as a United States senator. What the Pentagon objected to, of course, is bringing the campaign apparatus and the photographers and the zoo that accompanies these candidates sometimes.

"Trying to stir outrage?" Considering the latest gallup poll, McCain 49 Obama 45, I'd say people are already outraged.
I'm sure that Senator Obama could have made no better use of his time than to meet with our men and women in uniform there. That Barack Obama believes otherwise casts serious doubt on his judgment and calls into question his priorities.
Well yeah, but doing the right thing without the press present is like the proverbial tree falling in the forest. So why bother when there's a first class gym just waiting to be used.
I just love that last paragraph. Hmm, ya think someone’s bias might be showing just a bit?
“That Barack Obama believes otherwise casts serious doubt on his judgment and calls into question his priorities.”
IMHO, I ties in rather nicely, if bill clinton had stayed and fought it out in mogadishu instead of cutting and running (he was the CIC after all, it was his call to make - in spite of the political pressure to bail — W never caved in)...and emboldening our enemies, there may have never been a 9/11...but it really goes to show the propensity for liberals to cut and run at the first sign of trouble.
What would he say to a car jacker; “here’s my wallet, here’s my key’s, do anything you want to her, please just don’t hurt me.”
Damn those Republicans. Always bringing out ACTUAL war heroes!
But the Democrats still have Wesley Clark, John Kerry, Al Gore and the Winter Soldier crowd (oh, and Obamas uncle killed all the Nazis and liberated Europe(and found the Ark of the Covenant)).
Funny you mention that, the great-uncle has been found, he's been in Chicago all this time, and is giving interviews. With his Obama pin on. Just in the nick of time. Unfortunately for Obama that's the only military card he's got to play.
“the great-uncle has been found, he’s been in Chicago all this time”
Does he know where the birth certificate “IS”?
"Over the last week, Barack Obama made time in his busy schedule to hold a rally with 200,000 Germans in Berlin, hold a press conference with French President Nicholas Sarkozy in Paris, and hold a solo press conference in front of 10 Downing Street in London. The Obama campaign had also scheduled a visit with wounded U.S. troops at Ramstein Air Base in Germany, but this stop was canceled after it became clear that campaign staff, and the traveling press corps, would not be allowed to accompany Senator Obama."
My take on this is that the only military adviser he had with him was not part of his Senate Staff and therefore could not accompany him, so, given his total ignorance of all things military he didn’t want to go “unbriefed” because a) he might make a protocol gaffe, and b) he wouldn’t have a clue what to say to make intelligent converstion, nor would he understand half what was being said to him.
Consequently he did what he always does when faced with a potential problem.
He cut and ran.
Next up, John Clese with the Holy Grail.
Barack Hussein Obama has more in common with Mohamed Farrah Aidid than he does with Americans.
There is nothing American about Obama or his people.
I will never be deceived by this false prophet.
