Schools are telling children to change out of uniform to avoid being attacked on their way home, a government adviser revealed today.

LOL! The uniforms were put in place to cut gang activity, werent they? Not in the UK, they weren't, no. School uniforms have a long tradition in Britain that considerably predates any concern about gangs in schools - yes, in the US, some places have introduced uniforms for that reason, but that's an American phenomenon, not a British one.
