I mean, if you can’t wear gang colors you can’t be in a gang, right???
Not in the UK, they weren't, no. School uniforms have a long tradition in Britain that considerably predates any concern about gangs in schools - yes, in the US, some places have introduced uniforms for that reason, but that's an American phenomenon, not a British one.
