FALKENBERG, Sweden, July 28 (UPI) -- A Swedish family said they are never going back to Olofsbo campgrounds after its owners sent them away because their mobile home was too homely.
The Jarlefjord family of Boras, Sweden, wanted a fun-filled camping trip in their 1964 Eccles Moonstone mobile home when they showed up at Olofsbo camping, the Local reported Monday.
The family said they were out of luck at Olofsbo when their mobile home pulled up to the campgrounds. "I met a man who said that he ran the campsite. He said that our caravan was not coming in here. It is far too ugly," Peder Jarlefjord told reporters.
To make matters worse, the Jarlefjords said they were sent on their way again when they showed up and explained their plight at nearby Hansagards Camping.
The Jarlefjords have spoken to the Ombudsman against ethnic discrimination regarding the incidents, the Local said.
Ethnic discrimination?
This story needs a picture, or it makes no sense.
Yarlefeeyords ping
Any resemblence to the classic Airstream design?
Worthless with out pics ping
LOL
Picture a certain library in Arkansas
I read this and get a mental picture of a Swedish Clark Griswald and his family.
We have seen this in the good ‘ol U.S. too when RVing. Some RV parks have it posted that RVs staying in their (typically way overpriced) parks may be no more than five years old. I assume they are trying to cater to the wealthiest retired RV class.
You beat me to it. How is an ugly camping trailer related to ethnicity?
Alexandra, Moa, Simon och Peder Järlefjord från Hillared med husvagnen från 1964 som inte fick komma in på Olofsbo camping.
At least they took the wheels off....
Brilliant, LOL.
That doesn’t look ugly to me. What an elitist pr@ck that attendant must have been to turn these folks away. He’s probably hoping to be a Homeowners Assoc. President when he grows up.
I'd live there if the trailers were just bigger.
I’ve always liked that picture. Kinda cool.
Where, exactly is that? Do you know?
I don’t know whether to stare in horror or laugh. It looks like a custom-built paradise my MIL would’ve lived in.
