Virginia Illegal Immigration: Crime skyrockets in 1 county, plummets right next door

WASHINGTON One of the wealthiest counties in America reports crime skyrocketing by 22 percent in the first quarter of 2008, while its neighbor saw crime plummet by 19.3 percent in the same time period coinciding with a get-tough policy on illegal immigration.
Prince William County in Northern Virginia, a bedroom community for the nation's capital, made national news late last year with a crackdown on illegal immigration that supervisors believed was triggering higher crime and lower living standards.
Prince William County reported a 19.3 percent decline in crime, with chairman of the Board of County Supervisors Corey Stewart attributing the downturn to the hard line the county has taken toward illegal immigrants.
"One quarter doesn't tell us a lot," said county police spokeswoman Mary Ann Jennings. "It shows us where they may be some trends developing."

We are talking about Fairfax County VA where the median family income exceeds $100,000.
Over the years my neighborhood has had several major robberies including a quite serious gold heist (many ethnic groups running jewelry stores keep gold at home).
We had one attempted whole house robbery attempted where they pulled a moving van up and started loading everything.
Pros visit Fairfax.

The only illegal immigrants that ever did any work for me were college-aged children of friends that delivered flyers door-to-door for $10. per hour. You knew they were illegals, and yet paid them anyway. And cash at that.
You have no friends who are US citizens or legal alien residents with kids that could have handed out those flyers? You HAD to use illegals? I seriously doubt that.
Whatever entity was advertising through those flyers was breaking the law by using known illegal aliens to do the work.
Sue me.
Since you're bragging about how great it is for using illegals, name the entity for which you paid these illegals.
You love to gang-bang anybody who dares speak out against the echo-chamber POV. It shows a very ugly trait.
You admitting to paying illegalls and claiming those with a problem are either ignorant or liars is the ugly trait.
Im done in this thread. The odor is more than I can bear.
Running away like a coward is an even uglier trait, but that is what happens with most bullies when confronted.

Thanks.
The pwers that be weren’t exactly happy with me, because anytime the authorities are called, so is the ABC. I was well covered with that problem because there was no “sanctioned” alcohol involved. All alcohol was involved with the interlopers.

And just how many good Freepers would steal and/or break some laws when you are homeless and hungry and out of work? You tell them! We're all at the mercy of our environment - rugged individualism and self sufficiency don't even factor into the equation!
Incidentally, I hope you don't call yourself a conservative.

Could say the same about sections of Austin.
Wonder when you become a PRO at theft?

Every word I wrote is true. Many of us fought the DCpatriot illegals war here last year.
His profile (before he scrubbed it Obama-style) declared that he was "hopelessly liberal" on illegals.

DCprofiteer also bragged that many of his real estate sales over the last few years involved illegals.
He also wrote about using a cleaning company that he knew used illegals. He washed his hands Pilate-like of any responsibility for that too.

Perhaps someone will bring this to the attention of ICE.

The immigration laws are broken.
They've not been enforced diligently for decades.
Extremely weak argument.
We are not just talking about immigration laws, we are also talking about the countless ID Fraud felonies committed by Illegal Aliens when they get false IDs and then use those false IDs to gain employment, file their taxes(if they do) gain any social services, etc.
These same felonious criminal acts, if a legal citizen of this country committed them, would land them in jail with no compassion whatsoever.
Couple that with the ethical and moral issues of stealing benefits that they really have no rights to and the delitorious effects of their third world children in the education system and how that affects the quality of education for the children of LEGAL RESIDENTS of the US and now you start to approach the real scale of the problem.

Are you really that ignorant? Or, do you just play that role here on FreeRepublic?
You, my friend, are the ignorant one.
These criminals came into this country willing to work at half or less than wage that everyday Americans who were doing the tradesmen work in the 80's. I know, because I was one of them.
This meant they had to uproot their lives and try to find something else to do.

There are a couple of other FReepers (I use the term loosely) that are just as adamant about open borders and amnesty as a solution. Humanitarians, I guess.
I could see people just not really caring one way or another and that's fine but, to lean so far against the popular grain?
This is probably one of the few subjects where nearly everyone agrees.

Several convictions ~ then you figure out how to get away with the loot.
I'm guessing parts of Austin are lucrative places to rob.

I recall all of that WTC - I wonder, if he's so proud of his convictions, if he advertises his support of illegals to his real estate clients? He should be proud enough of it since he spouts it here all the time, right?
How about it David, you tell clients how you feel?

Since DCprofiteer also said that nearly every one of his home sales over the past few years were to individuals who were not credit worthy and needed the trick loans to buy, I'd suggest that he never said a word to anyone if it might have hurt his chance to make a fast buck.
Three of our biggest issues are illegal immigration, housing failures and the WOT. This 'patriot' has contributed to and profited from at least two out of three.

At one time, Austin had more $250,000+ homes than any other city it’s size. Lots of wealth here.
