The annual report by the Los Angeles County Human Relations Commission showed hate crimes rose by 28%, to 763, with vandalism and assault leading the way.

In what commission Executive Director Robin Toma called an alarming trend, hate crimes based on race, religion and sexual orientation all rose, increasing against nearly all groups -- including blacks, gays, Jews, Mexicans, whites and Asians -- even as crime in general declined.

The largest number of racial hate crimes involved Latino suspects against black victims, followed by black suspects against Latino victims. Latinos also made up the largest number of suspects in hate crimes based on sexual orientation. Whites were the leading suspects in religion-based incidents. Overall, blacks made up nearly half the hate crime victims, totaling 310.

Being in L.A.? I can attest to that by witnessing some altercations on the Red Line and Blue Lines in L.A.

I will actually state and agree with you: Hispanics and latinos look DOWN on blacks because they are portrayed as LAZY and always blames whitey for their problems.

While I admit my sample is small, the illegals I met while I lived in CA were not intent on being "government dependent".

The ones I saw were men and women who would pay thousands to be smuggled across the border in order to work for $10-12 per hour at a truly miserable job, like digging swimming pools by hand, with a pick & shovel. The women would be hotel maids, waitresses, etc.

In fact, I would gladly have traded any US welfare recipient for an "undocumented worker". I keep wondering how we could get the Mexican government to take all of our welfare drones and send us real workers in their place.

The five wealthiest men in Panama are either Sephardic Jewish or Arab Christian. Look around Latin America, and you will see that wealth is concentrated disproportionately among immigrants of European, Middle Eastern, and Asian ancestry that have arrived over the past 100 years or so.

My politically incorrect comment: I have little sympathy for folks who complain about being "violently driven from their neighborhoods" when the parents and grandparents drove away previous folks of the pale persuasion, often through violence, 40 years ago.

It would be nice to expedite the LEGAL immigration of productive and skilled workers from ALL nations.

Can't wait to see what happens in the CA prison system once the prisons are desegregated, as ordered by the courts!

Yet another example of leftists deciding things that will result in horrible consequences, and then they'll take no responsibility for it. As usual. My biggest problem is the huge loss of life it's going to cause. A lot of people who were never sentenced to death will die in those prisons. However, I'm really afraid that a number of corrections officers will be killed as well. It's going to be ugly.
