Fast food restaurants have employee dress codes not only for appearances, but for hygiene and safety. With that in mind, this case is sounding a lot like the case of the women wanting to wear Islamic attire in a Midwestern tortilla factory. The local health inspector isn't going to take kindly to long sleeves potentially brushing perishable food, and/or the grill and fryer oil, to say nothing of guidelines for hand-washing (see also: the debate over short sleeves in British hospitals). Then there is the matter of long attire and the potential need to make a quick exit in the event of a fire or robbery.

How is it they want to work at a restaurant serving non-halal meat?

I recently took my son to Logan Airport where I had a tough time ordering a sandwich from a woman in full Islamic garb. It can’t be too good for business nowadays. If a business can prove their receipts go down because customers won’t patronize them because of the workers’ religious dress, (and at Logan, it made a particular impression) then that business has every right to not hire them. It shouldn’t be too hard to do, either. In this case, I’m thinking they probably owned the business. If sniffing dogs makes THEM uncomfortable, how do they think a burkha makes most of us feel in an airport?
Oh, and let’s not forget all the pork products
We all know the local mosque put these people up to this. These women no more wanted to work there than a vegan in a slaughtering house. They knew they would be turned down, just another step in tearing down our nation.
I think the Muslims and the homos should go out to the parking lot and just have at it. And normal people left in the burger joint can watch through he windows, if the illegals have kept them clean.
Geeze! Does any one have a program?

A few weeks ago in Great Britain a hairstylist was sued by a woman wearing a hijab. As the owner of the shop explained, she sells hair styling. Her clients want to see how her employees take care of their own hair. It's good for business. The hijab doesn't allow for that.
The owner lost.
