The Obama campaign has issued a new statement blaming the Pentagon for Obama's controversial decision to scrap visits to U.S. troops and Rammstein Landstuhl military bases in Germany on Friday.
Der Spiegel initially reported this morning that Obama had cancelled the visits without reason. Then as word spread through the political world after the story was first posted at Free Republic, Obama's campaign issued a statement saying Obama thought it would be "inappropriate" to visit the troops while on a campaign trip.
After the McCain campaign issued a statement upbraiding Obama for snubbing the troops saying that it is never inappropriate to visit troops, Obama's campaign issued a new statement blaming the Pentagon:
"We learned from the Pentagon last night that the visit would be viewed instead as a campaign event. Senator Obama did not want to have a trip to see our wounded warriors perveived as a campaign event when his visit was to show his appreciation for our troops and decided instead not to go," Maj. Gen. Scott Gration, USAF (Ret), Obama spokesman.
What a freaking elitist snot-nosed stuffed-shirt.
In the same way I felt when the Criminal-in-Chief was president in the 1990’s, I am sure the troops did not really want to see his nObamness anyways.
If he was able to dupe the press when it came to visiting Hillary, he could have done it to see our Heroes.
Thank you for that. Very telling. Obama needs ‘handlers’ all the time, he cannot be on his own (or unscripted) for even a moment.
I still wonder what his security background investigation looks like. If I had his past, no way would I get a clearance.
If Obama REALLY wanted to visit the troops without it seeming like a campaign event, all he would have to do is leave the fawning press entourage at the front door and go into the hospital.
But since he and his staff are incapable of operating without a camera present, that would never occur to them.
It boils down to the fact that he does not and will never care anything about the people who guarantee his freedom. He is hardly the first to act in that way, but never have things more dire, I believe.

McCain has managed this “trick” repeatedly as have the President and others. Too much for Obama I guess. Nothing in it for him if he can’t have his picture taken.
I've got some news for the BOWEL Movement and his excuses lies, the military probably hates your guts as much as you hate them. You were likely warned that your visit would not be a photo-op like the one we saw the other day, i.e., hand picked audiences.
But it was appropriate to put troops in Kuwait, Afghanistan and Iraq through that torture?
I heard that he did stop and visit his place of birth in Bethlehem, however.
If ever there was a reason and intent for the 2nd Amendment that our forefathers so forward-thinkingly created....the "why" is now fully understood....at least, by me. If Obama slimes his way into the WH, we may ALL need to stock up on guns and ammo.

Yes I read a story the day it happened about how he basically stood in front of a wating goup for a photo then just walked on by them afterwards and just left. They had been waiting a long time to see him and he didn’t even take the time to even speak to them.
Is that Tony Lake? If it is, he looks like he’s on death’s door.
