Berliners spent the whole day trying to catch a glimpse of Barack Obama.
The rumor that he had spent the afternoon working out at the hotel gym took on all the significance of an Elvis sighting. Until 7:21 p.m., that is.
The sentences grows louder and louder; they start to drown out the applause. At the end of most of his speeches in the US, Obama tells his audience that he loves them. But in Berlin he just said "thank you." For a moment, it was plausible to think that he wanted to quickly aunch a global transformation through this crowd of 200,000 listeners. But the speech wasn't truly aimed at the audience assembled at the Siegesäule. While Obama shouts the last few lines of his speech into the crowd, his handlers are already escorting the members of the press that travel with him away from the guest stands. The journalists are each going to be given a few moments to speak with Obama. They're all Americans, all 40 of them. CNN, the New York Times, Newsweek, the Chicago Sun-Times. Members of the foreign press were explicitly unwelcome. The target audience was America. Sorry, Berlin.

Community and individuality are not opposites. People cannot survive on their own. When the odds are stacked against you, you must rally with the oppressed and hated.
When a growing oppressive regime is taking hold, you must act, otherwise you will soon face your enemy alone and hopeless.
Strength of community is a strength as much as individualism, as long you are willing to face weaknesses in your own community. Ignoring slacking values will mean that you will be rallied against by those you oppress.
Niemöller affirms we must rally against unhealthy organized regimes. We must also stay vigilant with those that appear to be good natured, as all organisation attracts corruption. Niemöller also warns us that if it is you who are corrupt, then you will face a stronger combined force of foe!

I didn’t see the speech and I didn’t read it; all I have seen our some outtakes on the news and different sites blogging or reporting about it.
He played the race card too.
I do believe the people of the world are waking up. Now if only the US media would get over its obasmic infatuation with this man.
I admit I have not listened much to his speeches because even though he does sound good, he says nothing much.
His speech got louder and louder.....just as Hitler did. He just worked the crowd because he knew how easy it was in Germany. Not only that, he payed for a concert before his speech.........that’s the reason for the crowds. Same thing that happened in Oregon.
Obama has proven he is dangerous to America and the world.
I believe all those who swear they will not vote for McCain are making a grave mistake. Sometimes, the lesser of two evils is not a bad thing. I HOPE they CHANGE their minds prior to November. Their vote is that important.

Obama scares the daylights out of me - there is something EXTREMELY unsettling about him.
Someone should unlock his grandmother and free her. If they drive her to the tv station in Honolulu and put her on camera I am sure she would say:
“People of America...listen to what I have to say...my grandson is a narcissistic sociopath...please forgive me...I couldn’t stop him in time.”
...then she breaks down and sobs uncontrollably.
