It’s not just us paying for the gas, it’s the whole package. They should not have the perks that they have voted for themselves. They should be paying into Social Security, they should get a stipend for health insurance, let them figure it out themselves like the rest of us. Car payments, gas, food, etc. Once they are out of office they are on their own, just like the rest of us. They leave office and make tons of cash in the private sector, why are we paying them benefits till they die? You lose your job you lose it all, so should they.

And yet when we all do conserve, they will complain that tax receipts are down and call for an increase in gas tax. Unscrupulous bastiches.

Was this on camera? *Every* Republican Senate candidate should be running ads with that statement. It’s like a gift to the GOP. Though a lot of morons still will vote Demo, even after they complain about Congress doing nothing about the price of gas.

Hey Harry!

How about $5 a gallon heating oil? While you only have to worry about votes from people in Nevada, where you get mild winters and most of your electrical energy from Hoover Dam, let’s hope that the voters in states that get cold realize that you and your ilk are the reason for the $2000 a month heating bills they’re going to wind up with if there’s a long, cold winter.

An economy can’t grow using conservation. I know that I’m tapped out. I drive a car that gets 35 mpg. I make no extra trips. I stay at home on weekends. If I’m not working, I’m home. Maybe you can make some additional suggestions.

I’m NOT looking forward to this winter either, as my home is heated with natural gas. I’m putting money aside now... I’m afraid that I’m going to see bills approaching $250 a month or higher. Heck, just recently the price I pay for natural gas went up by just shy of 20%.

I really hope that while Harry is insulated from his actions that they lead to his being very lonely in the senate after the election. The sad thing is that the republicans have given up, and of course it doesn’t help that they told conservatives to piss-off, so he and the dem majority might very well survive in the house and senate!

Mark

Conservation to an elitist means

lowering the standard of living of the “average person”.

This is a State’s Rights issue. The Federal Gummit shouldn’t be allowed to keep a State from drilling for oil. This is the problem with Central Planning. Even Russia and China understand the importance of domestic energy better than the DNC.

If you like $5/gal, Thank Pelosi.

They say the key to lowering the price is conservation.

OK, Harry and Nancy. You first.

We want to see you at the pump buying your own gas and driving yourselves around - but sparingly because we must "conserve." YOU decree it, then YOU set the example.

Only then would we even consider taking you seriously, you elitist dirtbags.

Because they believe in the sin of oil. They believe in the democrat oil embargo to save our nation, they believe we need to “wean Americans off petroleum products,” as Sen. Cantwell indicated. We must be punished and pay for our sin of oil. It is one of the oldest totalitarian tricks in the book. The democrat oil embargo = control of the American people.

Yes, they have worked very hard at making the Oil is a Sin/evil connection. Drilling is evil, gas is evil, cars are evil, Americans are evil, oil-profits are evil.

Keywords: addiction, wean, sick, fascism

“How is it that the SANE people of this Nation are held hostage by politicians with mental disorders?”

The answer to your question is a simple one; because the SANE people of this nation continue to vote back in office the very politicians with mental disorders who are holding them hostage. But, hope is eternal. “Maybe, just maybe”, the otherwise sane folks will “finally” wakeup and vote these elitist/socialist politicians out of office. Btw, it's a mistake to characterize these politicians as having mental disorders. Actually, they are quite sane and have a very well defined agenda - total control of the behavior of the American people. Sadly, many Americans don't see it...

The headline doesn’t seem to be directly supported by the article.

(Not that I doubt Reid does feel that $5 gas is no problem, but Farah gives us zero quotes from Reid saying that.)

WND has a practice of “Stretching” the truth. He may think this, but the headline is definitely misleading.

One reason I rarely use WND as a news source.
