You've probably heard the story about the tycoon who wanted to bring out a new kind of dog food.
He spent lavishly. He hired the best marketing person, the top PR firm, the best ad agency, the No. 1 packaging expert, the most powerful distributor -- but the sales were flat after six months.
He summoned his consultants to a meeting and asked why the food wasn't selling. "The dogs won't eat it," was the answer that came back.
And so it is with Mitt Romney. Despite outspending his rivals by huge margins throughout the primaries, the dogs won't eat it. He lost Iowa, New Hampshire, South Carolina, Florida and California. The only primaries he won were in Michigan, where Dad was governor; LDS states; and a few states on Super Tuesday in which his California-obsessed rivals couldn't spare the cash to advertise. Only John Connolly in 1968 had a worse cash-to-delegates ratio.
And John McCain rightly did not like Romney's tactics during the primaries. Using his gigantic money advantage to dominate television, he seized early leads in virtually all of the primary states, only to lose them later on. And, when they started slipping away, he resorted to unfair, distorted, scorched-earth negative ads, betting that his opponents couldn't afford to spend enough for the truth to catch up to his charges.

“You have a problem. I know it must just make you sick when you compare your pathetic life to Romneys. I think you should stick to posting pictures of vacuous Hollywood starlets on your home page. When it comes to political acumen, you and the Hollywood airheads have a lot in common.
Nailed it!
With liberals infesting the GOP, yes.
"I know it must just make you sick"
It does. I hate when slimeball liberals manipulate people and lie to them in order to win office. I expect that from rodents, but not from Republicans.
"when you compare your pathetic life to Romneys."
Indeed, I've never had a successful career of destroying Republican parties I've been in charge of. I've also not enacted Socialized medicine and $50 abortions or appointed liberal judges that release murderers onto the streets. What a life it is !
"I think you should stick to posting pictures of vacuous Hollywood starlets on your home page."
Most kind. Obviously a far more worthwhile endeavor than shilling for vacuous liberal RINO losers for President (or VP). :-)
"When it comes to political acumen, you and the Hollywood airheads have a lot in common."
You're an expert on the subject of airheads, without question, as your posts demonstrate. :-)
I think they’re onto something
“The Romney Plan”
#1 - Tell whatever lies you need to and bribe supporters to get elected.
#2 - Sabotage Republican/Conservative agenda and enact Socialist agenda splitting GOP.
#3 - Appoint liberal judges to enact perversion and release murderers on the streets to kill innocent people.
#4 - Destroy GOPs electoral chances for years to come.
#5 - Flee office and hand it to his rodent successor.
#6 - Run for President. Rinse and repeat !
The idea that Romney could have turned this around is nonsense. And the very fact that he was elected and was able to be an effective governor says a lot about him. Your obvious hatred of Romney is visceral, which isn't justified based on any objective view of the man. At CPAC this year, Romney won the straw poll. I would much rather see Romney running for President against Obama than McCain. If we didn't have open and winner take all primaries, Romney would have been the nominee.
Don’t bother asking “intelligent” questions to fieldmarshaldj.
That goes above his pay scale.
Thanks. I live above ground.
"In Massachusetts the Dems currently control the House/Assembly 139 Dems/19 Reps/2 Vacancies and the Senate 35 Dems/5 Reps. There are no Reps in the Congressional delegation. And the governor is now a Dem. That is real political dominance by one party, which is why MA is arguably the most Democrat state in the country."
Yes, I'm aware of the figures. If you had bothered to read my posts, kiddo, you'd know I've discussed this situation umpteen times. That is the wreckage RINO incompetence has left behind. The MA GOP is effectively dead as it now has fewer numbers than at any point since it was founded in 1856. Thanks to Slick Willard, it may be decades before the GOP ever wins major office in the state again.
"The idea that Romney could have turned this around is nonsense."
And yet he promised he would. Now either you'll concede he's a liar and had no intention of doing anything other than getting himself elected Governor, or you'll concede he is grossly incompetent. Either way, he's unfit for office.
Another pipsqueak from the Precious Willard peanut gallery.
I think the bulk of conservative talk show hosts, Hannity Limbaugh, Beck, Ingraham, Gallagher Medved Hewitt, would have influence in getting additional people to support Romney. (Romney was second highest vote getter in the primaries)
Besides, I really can't see the deep south going for Obama.
Go Romney!
Vice President as boyfriend? LMAO!!! Haven’t heard that before. How would they feel if they knew he used Grecian 5?
The good news is that Dick Morris is always wrong.
“Ich bin ein Berliner”
If we didn’t have open and winner take all primaries, Romney would have been the nominee.

Exactly...
What a shame the unwashed mobs were allowed to voice their opinion about the uncrowned king of America...
Beastly inconvenience, that “one man, one vote” thingy is...
Romney didnt get a mandate from the voting public during the primaries...
What makes you think he will in November, when all of the Democrats and all of the Republicans get to vote in an “open and winner take all” general election ?????????
Mitt needs more boot camp for his celestial reward. He's planning on ruling his own world as a god, since he chose special underwear to protect him, and Joe Smith to guide him. He must be a really smart person (or another really gullible one). Maybe he's just another scammer like Joe...
I have come to the conclusion that we are seeing the perfect storm of a worst case scenario of a political season. Ultra left- dems against two RINOS. God help us.
I’d like to be added to your “Say no to McCain” ping list.
yep
Actually, Toe-sucker is usually accurate, with his long term
extrapolations being wrong.
I emailed the McCain campaign website yesterday and urged them to pick Romney.
I also called the phone contact number and left a message. Will do it again today, not that I think it will influence McCain or his people.
The only two candidates which will make me openly campaign and support McCain are Romney, and Rick Santorum (which is a loooong shot, for sure)
I’m still perplexed as to why Rick Santorum lost so badly in 2006. Same for JD Hayworth.
Sure, Santorum got awful awful press from every single newspaper in the state (except one in Pittsburgh) - but he was a powerful US Senator with an excellent record.
I suspect that the two big cities, Philadelphia and Pittsburgh, have such lax voting registration that any Republican will have a tougher and tougher time winning in this state.
END illegal immigration now. And curtail legal immigration until we can absorb the non english people who are already here. I can’t buy a cup of coffee anywhere near Philly from a regular native born American.
