You've probably heard the story about the tycoon who wanted to bring out a new kind of dog food.
He spent lavishly. He hired the best marketing person, the top PR firm, the best ad agency, the No. 1 packaging expert, the most powerful distributor -- but the sales were flat after six months.
He summoned his consultants to a meeting and asked why the food wasn't selling. "The dogs won't eat it," was the answer that came back.
And so it is with Mitt Romney. Despite outspending his rivals by huge margins throughout the primaries, the dogs won't eat it. He lost Iowa, New Hampshire, South Carolina, Florida and California. The only primaries he won were in Michigan, where Dad was governor; LDS states; and a few states on Super Tuesday in which his California-obsessed rivals couldn't spare the cash to advertise. Only John Connolly in 1968 had a worse cash-to-delegates ratio.
And John McCain rightly did not like Romney's tactics during the primaries. Using his gigantic money advantage to dominate television, he seized early leads in virtually all of the primary states, only to lose them later on. And, when they started slipping away, he resorted to unfair, distorted, scorched-earth negative ads, betting that his opponents couldn't afford to spend enough for the truth to catch up to his charges.

I think he’ll be a great VP.
He’ll help get America out of the mess we’re in.
‘churchless’?!?!
Trinity UCC rocks the house every Sunday morning with high voltage Black Lib Theology umbrage on tap!
“Lindsey Graham is possibly the worst possible pick he could make. And there are plenty of bad picks to go for (like Crist).”
I agree, but apparently someone thinks he’s a real possibility. If McCain picked him, it’d be like an open admission that he wants loyalty above all else. And Graham probably wouldn’t help in a single state where it’s close.
Um the Title says Rally for Romney
He was a successful businessman and has a net worth between $250 million and $500 million. He became Rep governor of the most Dem state in the country. He was CEO of the Winter Olympics doing an outstanding job contributing $1 million to the Olympics, and donating the $825,000 salary he earned as President and CEO to charity. He is a solid family man with five sons and 11 grandchildren.
It is really pathetic to think that we have candidates like McCain and Obama who couldn't hold a candle to Romney's achievements inside and outside government. He is clearly the most qualified of all and the most capable. Sick isn't it?
I agree.
Great post!!!!
Bravo!
I’m going to start pooling together all my “Romney Resources” and maybe create a site.
“Pick Mitt” because he’s got the “base in place” for the election!
"Hes intelligent."
Slick and cunning.
"Hes moral."
You forgot the "im-".
"Hes personable."
Like a used car salesman.
"He has leadership experience."
Running a state and state party into the ground.
"Hes inspiring."
To liberals, metrosexuals, and demented old women.
"Hed be a dramatic foil, defusing health concerns some may have about McCain."
He'd force McCain to have to live to keep this slick liberal from becoming President.
"It would set him up as the (next) Republican president after McCain, either after 8 years or God forbid sooner."
His ultimate goal. Lord help us.
"And theres another aspect, which I really almost hesitate to mention, because as nearly palpably real and hugh as it is for actually winning the election, how to say this?"
As if that will stop you.
"Women. That is to say. Well, theyre smart."
If you consider thinking with their loins smart.
"Women are wonderful. Thats what Im trying to say. ;)"
Of course they are. But just because they're hot and liberal doesn't mean I'm going to work hard to elect them President.
"OK I couldnt say it."
You said it.
Similar to what my cat cooked in the litter box.
That’s the remains of the MA GOP and the Conservative agenda that Slick Willard buried.
Obama appearance: Berlin authorities say that as many as a million people could attend. Four TV stations are broadcasting the entire speech, and the rest are scrambling to secure prime locations at the site.
Marky, you ignurnt slut. What did Slick do to Massachusetts' GOP ? California still HAS Republicans in office.
I’d like a list of all the Republicans Slick Willard successfully helped elect to office in Massachusetts. Start with Governor.
...Sierra !
Will he be announcing Slick Willard as his running mate in Berlin ?
“OK I couldnt say it.”
You said it.
-
You missed it.
I’ll try to be more specific, without offending any women reading this.
Women are intelligent. (ok here’s where it’s gonna get difficult)
However..........
Women’s intelligence is more holistic than men’s.
It’s more integrated with their feelings, and their well, their hormones.
(trying to word this carfully)
Women are responsible, my boss is a woman — best boss I ever had.
But let’s be frank.
A significant portion of women voting for President, seem to be voting for a substitute “guy”.
Notwithstanding the whole Hillary thing, for a moment.
That’s where Mitt fits in.
He’s a great candidate on his merits. He’s a real leader, and guys can comfortably vote for him for his strengths.
And, well women think he’s charming.
That means, a lot of women will vote for him.
You have a problem. I know it must just make you sick when you compare your pathetic life to Romney’s. I think you should stick to posting pictures of vacuous Hollywood starlets on your home page. When it comes to political acumen, you and the Hollywood airheads have a lot in common.
Nope, I got it.
"Ill try to be more specific, without offending any women reading this."
Sure.
"Women are intelligent. (ok heres where its gonna get difficult)"
Some are. Some aren't. Like men.
"However.......... Womens intelligence is more holistic than mens."
Uh-huh.
"Its more integrated with their feelings, and their well, their hormones."
So you're agreeing that females for Slick Willard are thinking with their loins and not their brains. We got it.
"(trying to word this carfully)"
Mmm.
"Women are responsible, my boss is a woman best boss I ever had."
Some women are responsible, some aren't. Like men.
"But lets be frank."
Barney ? No thanks.
"A significant portion of women voting for President, seem to be voting for a substitute guy."
I thought you said substitute gay. You did say let's be Frank.
"Notwithstanding the whole Hillary thing, for a moment."
America's Mother-in-law.
"Thats where Mitt fits in."
Riding Hillary's broomstick ?
"Hes a great candidate on his merits."
What merits ?
"Hes a real leader"
Sure. Was the best liberal Democrat Governor Massachusetts ever had. Thanks to him, no Republican will ever win office again there for the next 50 years.
"and guys can comfortably vote for him for his strengths."
He does appeal well to liberal metrosexuals, true.
"And, well women think hes charming."
Used car salesmen often are. In a sleazy kinda way.
"That means, a lot of women will vote for him."
Why don't they just take a photograph of him instead ? It'll last longer.
