(CNN) – Responding to an Israeli reporter’s question Wednesday on his commitment to protect the Jewish state, Barack Obama pointed to a bill “we passed” in the U.S. Senate Banking Committee that tightens sanctions and authorizes divestment from Iran. “My committee,” he called it.
Except that he isn’t a member of the Committee on Banking, Housing and Urban Affairs.
“Just this past week, we passed out of the out of the U.S. Senate Banking Committee - which is my committee - a bill to call for divestment from Iran as way of ratcheting up the pressure to ensure that they don’t obtain a nuclear weapon,” Obama said at a press conference in Sderot, Israel.

Hopefully the Republicans are waiting till after the Dimwit convention is over. I would like to see some of these commercials right now. I thought they should of nailed him hard on the 57 state comment.
Surely, he represents the 51st to 57th State on the Committee ???

One can only hope the RNC is keeping track. I just don’t know why he either wasn’t making these gaffes during the primaries or they weren’t reported. When the debates come and the whole world is watching he’s screwed.

Why is it being called a “gaffe?” He is either a bald faced liar or living in a different dimension.
Well, maybe he thinks he is on that committee and has been going to their meetings, because the committe he actually chairs, the Senate Committee on Foreign Relations’ Subcommittee on Europe has not met a single time.
He is the BE-ALL, END-ALL for everything good that ever happened. Did you know he fingered Robin Hood and caught the midnight skulker!
Oh, and he knows who framed Roger Rabbit and what happened to Baby Jane.
I don’t think they’re gaffes, I think it’s pure arrogance and the belief that he can BS anyone anytime anywhere and never be called on the carpet.
No real surprise.
Obama hasn’t actually spent enough time in the Senate to know what committee(s) he might be on.
He barely learned where the restrooms were before he decided to run for the presidency.
