ARLINGTON -- Two gunmen who forced their way into a southeast Arlington home Tuesday afternoon blasted through the back door with shotguns, tied up a couple and their adult son and took the womans jewelry, a 911 audio recording says.
The female victim, who has asked Tuesday that her name not be used because the suspects are still at large, told the 911 dispatcher that the home invasion about 1 p.m. Tuesday was unreal.
She said she was sitting reading in her home in the 500 block of Lemon Drive, her son was on the computer and her husband was getting ready for work when the suspects fired into her back door.
All the sudden the door blasted out and they were in here, the woman told the dispatcher. It was unreal. And they had shotguns.
There was no indication why the gunman picked the small, brick home in an established neighborhood near Cravens Park, in far southeast Arlington.

where were the perps from?????
dollars to donuts, from the ghetto...
Drugs involved.....
South Arlington is, indeed, not the bad part of town.
But I hear from people in the area that all of Arlington is not what it used to be. It's going downhill.
Recommend that the homeowner buy a shotgun so he can shoot back.
The makeup of the city has changed significantly since I moved here in 1999. Go figure.
The Chamber Of Commerce is gonna love me...

In the full article it says one guy was white and the other was Hispanic. (I still am confused about how Hispanic got to be a separate race.)
I grew up in Arlington, don’t live there now, but my parents are still there. I remember when they had a big celebration as the population hit 50,000.
I grew up in a small town that is small no more. We used to streeet race on Park Row between Fielder and Collins and no one thought much about it. That was circa 1966.
Not a great part of Arlington. My brother used to live a few blocks from there about 15 years ago. It was going downhill then.
*Sigh* - Don’t people knock anymore?
Very sad. I lived there from 1977-81 on what was then the extreme north side (Washington Drive and Cooper) until graduating from HS. When my parents built the house in 77 that area was THE place to be. I was there two months ago and was shocked to see that our neighborhood was so run down and unkempt.
the perps obviously already know where she lives and most likely her name by now anyway. you think they forgot that they pulled this job and her giving her name would remind them?
Here's what it's turned into.
The comments are hair-raising, especially the one about someone being murdered there.
People who break in like that deserve to die.
dollars to donuts, from the ghetto...
With Section 8 housing vouchers, the ghetto is now everywhere, and not so easily avoided.
I lived there about 20 years ago off Park Row around New York . It's more of an Asian neighborhood now but I don't know if there's a lot of crime or not. We live in Cedar Hill now. Great city!!
