A small sunspot that appeared on Friday has disappeared from the visible light spectrum. The small black dots that appear on the main link are pixel issues. Some trace of the solar disturbance remains in other filtered images and can be seen as a white area near the center point of the images (see second link) http://sohowww.nascom.nasa.gov/data/realtime/realtime-update.html. Many scientists believe that our sun has been unusually quiet since the "end" of Solar Cycle 23. Some scientists believe that our sun has been unusually active for the last 70 years. Some scientists believe that most of Earth's recent warming can be traced directly to increased solar activity. The debate on this issue will continue in the future.

Yes, counting that spot as a spot was a good example of “sunspot number” inflation compared to the historical record. I seriously doubt 17th century observers would have seen (or counted) that one.
The minimum continues...no cycle 24 spots in a while.

Yes, another impending world climate disaster, blamed now on sunspots...but not to worry, it can be controlled and eliminated, according to the High Priest Gore of the Church of Global Warming, if we just pony up some money to make it go away......most likely his trained polar bears will agree....

Releasing carbon into Earth's attmosphere most certainly causes sunspots to vanish on the Sun.
I mean...DUH!!!
Seriously, you can't parody a lib...someone is bound to make this "point" sooner or later.

It looks like (to me anyway) we are headed into a cooling cycle.

There is no debate. The science is settled. The truth WILL rise to the top.
The "settled science" WILL settle on the bottom.
The only question is, how long will we have to wait and how much damage to the economy will we have to endure?

Of course we can’t blame the Sun for global warming....How could we possibly tax the Sun?

"...Some scientists believe that most of Earth's recent warming can be traced directly to increased solar activity." I would think that would be a pretty obvious conclusion to all but global warming cultists and Congressional Democrats.

The obvious conclusion won’t be obvious until the Little Ice Age settles in: I’ve got a feeling that the next few winters will be close approximations of the Norse “Fimbulwinter”. . .
