Wow, that’s a wonderful poem. If I hadn’t had to work today, I would have taken today off to attend the funeral. DC isn’t that far away from me. I hope they have some coverage this evening though.
“Its still unreal to me that he passed on.....he was so kind. Jeez...Russert and now Tony.....I think God is starting his own news channel up there....”
Me, too, Fawn. I tear up everytime I think about him. I heard someone say that God was getting a great press secretary! God Bless and keep Tony’s family.
Thank you for that.....*sniff*
I knew the President would have kind words to say. Thanks for posting that Fox snippet.
Now the tears are flowing after reading your post.
And He will raise you up on eagle's wings,
Bear you on the breath of dawn,
Make you to shine like the sun,
And hold you in the palm of His Hand.

Gee, I really felt that hug :>).
I always sought out, and really enjoyed, all the “Tony” threads. Now these threads, mourning Tony’s death and celebrating his life, have been my main source of comfort since he died. Only a fellow Snowflake could understand, and feel, the pain of his passing so early from among us. I know that, with time (the great healer), we will be able to think about him ..... and smile, remembering all that was so good. Today, I still want to cry.
I sincerely pray for the comfort of God’s eternal, unwavering love, to fill the hearts of his family ... that they can move forward with confidence, themselves knowing that the day of their reunion will come. What a wonderful family they are.
To all, (((((Snowflakes)))))

I love that song.
Another keeper...
“Wherever you are and whatever you do, never forget at this moment, and every moment forward, you have a precious blessing. You’ve got the breath of life. No matter how lousy things may seem, you’ve got the breath of life. And while God doesn’t promise tomorrow, he does promise eternity.”
Tony Snow
If you close your eyes, you can just hear Tony say these words. God bless him in Heaven.
Ah, yes...as He would for each of us, He will do for our Tony!
They played it at my f-i-l’s funeral mass, it was hard to keep it together.
I’ll be there in spirit....prayers to all

Bush Fondly Speaks of Tony Snow at Funeral
President Bush fondly remembered Tony Snow Thursday, telling mourners at Snow’s funeral that the conservative commentator-turned-White House press secretary “amassed a rare record of accomplishment.”
He knew the job of a reporter was vigorous. He understood the profession and always treated it with respect,” said Bush, who traveled to the Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception to pay respects to his former lead spokesman, who died of colon cancer last Saturday.

My Dad’s too. I used to sing it in my cantoring days.

Back at ya
One of my favorite songs:
Something you should know about I Will Remember U Lyrics
Sarah Mclachlan - I Will Remember You
I will remember you, will you remember me?
Don’t let your life pass you by,
Weep not for the memories
Remember the good times that we had?
I let them slip away from us when things got bad.
How clearly I first saw you smilin’ in the sun
Wanna feel your warmth upon me
I wanna be the one
I will remember you, will you remember me?
Don’t let your life pass you by
Weep not for the memories
I’m so tired but I can’t sleep
Standin’ on the edge of something much too deep
It’s funny how we feel so much but we cannot say a word
We are screaming inside, but we can’t be heard
But I will remember you, will you remember me?
Don’t let your life pass you by
Weep not for the memories
I’m so afraid to love you
But more afraid to lose
Clinging to a past that doesn’t let me choose
Once there was a darkness
Deep and endless night
You gave me everything you had, oh you gave me light
And I will remember you, will you remember me?
Don’t let your life pass you by
Weep not for the memories
Weep not for the memories
I know exactly what you mean. On Saturday evening when we were all gathered watching the coverage (and today), I could feel them, too.
Never have I understood more the saying, "Together in spirit" then I have with these Tony threads. I've come close, but this is something different entirely. I think we can all feel it at least a little.
