Reading 1
Is 26:7-9, 12, 16-19
The way of the just is smooth;
the path of the just you make level.
Yes, for your way and your judgments, O LORD,
we look to you;
Your name and your title
are the desire of our souls.
My soul yearns for you in the night,
yes, my spirit within me keeps vigil for you;
When your judgment dawns upon the earth,
the worlds inhabitants learn justice.
O LORD, you mete out peace to us,
for it is you who have accomplished all we have done.
O LORD, oppressed by your punishment,
we cried out in anguish under your chastising.
As a woman about to give birth
writhes and cries out in her pains,
so were we in your presence, O LORD.
We conceived and writhed in pain,
giving birth to wind;
Salvation we have not achieved for the earth,
the inhabitants of the world cannot bring it forth.
But your dead shall live, their corpses shall rise;
awake and sing, you who lie in the dust.
For your dew is a dew of light,
and the land of shades gives birth.
Responsorial Psalm
Ps 102:13-14ab and 15, 16-18, 19-21
R. (20b) From heaven the Lord looks down on the earth.
You, O LORD, abide forever,
and your name through all generations.
You will arise and have mercy on Zion,
for it is time to pity her.
For her stones are dear to your servants,
and her dust moves them to pity.
R. From heaven the Lord looks down on the earth.
The nations shall revere your name, O LORD,
and all the kings of the earth your glory,
When the LORD has rebuilt Zion
and appeared in his glory;
When he has regarded the prayer of the destitute,
and not despised their prayer.
R. From heaven the Lord looks down on the earth.
Let this be written for the generation to come,
and let his future creatures praise the LORD:
The LORD looked down from his holy height,
from heaven he beheld the earth,
To hear the groaning of the prisoners,
to release those doomed to die.
R. From heaven the Lord looks down on the earth.
Gospel
Mt 11:28-30
Jesus said:
Come to me, all you who labor and are burdened,
and I will give you rest.
Take my yoke upon you and learn from me,
for I am meek and humble of heart;
and you will find rest for yourselves.
For my yoke is easy, and my burden light.
Checkin’ in! I am disappointed that it’s not televised on
Fox!
....woof....
You are welcome, (((LadyJMayo)))
It’s good to have friends to help out. We will all miss him very much.
Any ideas for future threads are great!
Where do we listen? Do I need to scan the thread for links?
What a day...I was hoping never to be on this thread.....
I just bet it's a glorious celebration of Tony's life.
*tears* and HUGS to all of you~~
I heard Britt Hume say that he was checked for this every 6 months for years. If he had to pass a physical to get the insurance it may have become an issue. personally I find it hard to believe that someone as intelligent and remarkable as Tony Snow would have been uninsured, but I guess you never know.
Tony would be proud of you....of all of us who have stuck
together through it all and have uplifted him.
This is hard......
I want to hear/see it the service and can’t. I pray for his family and
friends as their hearts ache in the loss...and that includes
all of us!
We wondered where you were, dinasour! We missed you.
Back at ya, rdb3.
(((((((rdb3))))))
But Tony loved his kids more than his own life itself & I kinda feel like it's the least I can do as thanks in exchange for the gift he gave to me by serving as a model of someone with such a superb outlook on life to emulate (as somebody else said above).
Awesome idea leilani! And beautifully said...he WAS a wonderful example to all of us.
Maybe we could each create a page?
Thank you very much for posting the readings, AliVeritas!
God Bless Tony Snow. Do not be afraid. Cry for the family because Tony is already in God’s warm embrace.
Tony actually took the time to freepmail me some time ago. Imagine going through a battle with cancer and taking the time to write a short note to a conservative who could only see the negatives of the current political situation.
He concluded his note to me by saying, “...just remember, the good guys always win in the end...”
He will be sorely missed here and in the conservative movement. But his death reminds me that all is not lost...we will win.
This time, I did break the feed LUV W :(

Thanks, LUV!
You are so correct about buying life insurance. In 1978 my 33 year old husband died instantly from a heart attack leaving me with a young son and no life insurance to help us. I had to get a bank loan to pay for his funeral - had to use my car as collateral. After 2 weeks off, I had to return to work just to keep a roof over our heads and food on the table. I’m not complaining about working (I’ve never been without employment) but it drastically changed our lifestyle without my late husbands salary and I really didn’t have a breather to grieve. It was a very rough period in my life.
:) A group project would be a great idea, leilani!
Oh wow! It is huge!
