Fox News is announcing that Tony Snow has died.
Heartbreaking news.
Thanks for posting Surfer Boy’s comments. Brought tears to my eyes......he captured Tony’s essence so well!
I listened a fair amount while out doing errands. Each hour started with their intro for a short bit and then went to Tony's, with his voice and all. What a tearjerker! Grif was on for a segment...very sweet to hear from him.

Thanks for the hugs, and right back at you! Didn’t hear the news right away, and wasn’t on the thread until late. It was hard not having my fellow Snowflakes around when I heard since it was so late here in San Francisco! Have thought about changing my tag line, but can’t do it! Think I’ll forever remain a Snowflake! Love you!
Hi everybody,
Thank you so much for all your kind remembrances of Tony. I know he would appreciate every word.
It’s been a tough weekend for all of us, I think, but the love that we all share for Tony is very comforting. He was a special, special person.
Tony once told me that the most important thing you can do with your life is love your family. “When you’re on your deathbed,” he said, “you’re not going to be thinking about your job or what upset you that day. You’re going to be thinking about your spouse and your kids.” I said to him, “You might remember your job.” He laughed and replied, “I’ll remember one or two things. But mainly my family.”
The first thing I did in honor of Tony was to tell my husband and my parents how much I love them. I can’t think of a better way to remember Tony Snow.
It is so great to hear from you!
When youre on your deathbed, he said, youre not going to be thinking about your job or what upset you that day. Youre going to be thinking about your spouse and your kids.
Good advice for all of us to remember! I hope you're doing well, all things considered. :-)
Very possible .. as I said, I probably overreacted as it hit me, grieving and raw like us all, as so offhanded and cold.
Others have mentioned that he was so close to the White House, there may have been something in place from the admin. Surely, you know his legions of friends will be there shepherding his beloved family.
Hi!
So good hearing from you! Seems like ages! Your words were beautiful, and what a wonderful quote! Makes us all remember what Tony stood for, and your right! We really do need to remind our loved ones that they are indeed loved. Tony embodied that philosophy.
(((((((((((((((RP)))))))))))))))))))))) Ummmmmm husband??? Well, well..... Congrats!!!!!!!
((((((((((TOL))))))))))
Been too long! Have missed all our fellow Snowflakes!!
(((((((((((PTD)))))))))))))))
It is SO good to see you here...after all, you ARE a part of
our group of Snowflakes.
Tony was the compleat gentelman and gentle man, and he will
be missed by so many. He brought elegance and kindness to the
profession of journalism that will be sorely lacking without
him!
Ping to #2,064
Time I pay my respects to this fine gentleman...
May God have you a fine room Mr. Snow... Jesus prepared it, so you can bet it is.
*grins*
Just saw it and responded, Raster! Thanks for the ping!
Thank you for the reply and message! You and Surferboy were certainly made each of us see that we were all part of something very special that I’ll always remember and cherish. Each day we listened to the show, I knew I was in the company of FRiends.
It certainly did, Bahbah! ;-) I do miss talking with all of you.
:-) Primetimedonna, we will always be Snowflakes.
Sorry that we can’t always be awake when you have time to catch up on FR.
Love you right back!

Thank you. That’s a great memory to share with us.
WASHINGTON - President Bush will attend the funeral Thursday for Tony Snow, his former press secretary, at the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception.
