Fox News is announcing that Tony Snow has died.
Heartbreaking news.
I hate this! I just..............
((((((sl and defconw))))))
I’m off to be semi-productive (I’m embarrassed to tell you the specifics of how completely lazy I was yesterday). But I’ll be back later.
I might go to the grocery store, so that should give me a chance to practice Tony-like patience and my 5 random acts of kindness all in one place. ;-)
Thanks for sharing this, SL.
I am going to do 5 random acts of kindness in Tony’s name as well. Talk to you later?
Thank you so much.
Yesterday, I was going to a support the troops rally in West Chester, PA, when I heard the news on the radio.
Going straight home after, and going right back to the routine was unthinkable, given the news.
I decided to take my sorry disabled butt to the Maryland shore and back for the first time, alone, since the MS diagnosis. It was rebellion against what ailes me and a reflection of the courageous example TS set for all of us. Afraid of leaving some kind stranger responsible for me, if I couldn’t handle it, I wouldn’t do it before.
Everything couldn’t have gone more smoothly and it was quite a joyous trip! Freedom!
Some young women, sisters, from Middleton DE, took a liking to me for some strange reason, and they were so kind and fun and intelligent to be with.
So you see, even after his death, he is doing great things for others and it is very likely to be the case for a very long time.
Tony, Sir, its been a privilege. Thank you so much for all the joy you have brought to us, and will continue to.
Oh good for you. Glad something positive came of the news. Tony, I think would be very happy about your trip.
Yes I did notice McLellan was skipped over.
O’Reilly, Gretchen and Geraldo did a wonderful
job on their tributes.
This is what I would like to see when they make
the movie of Tony Snow’s life...
DIRECTOR .....Tom Hanks or Mel Gibson
TECHNICAL CONSULTANT ... Rush Limbaugh
TONY SNOW ... John Schneider (”Dukes of Hazzard” and great conservative)
Who should write it?
Tony Snow was Bob Hope for our generation.
I don’t think anyone but Tony could be Tony.
Just looking at the names posting on this thread brings back so many happy memories, so many.
He did beat cancer, even in his death from it.
“Tragedy hits you twice.
It takes you physically, but it can only take your heart and spirit if you let it. Tony knew this. Cancer could only have his body, he would never permit it to take his life.
God is with his family.”
Beautifully stated H.C., and one to be remembered. Tony certainly lived that philosophy. I know he gave hope to many who are also fighting this battle.
As I was driving around 5 AM Saturday, on the car radio the Fox news person said a beloved Fox co-worker had died and then there was a pause. Enough time for me to think “don’t say it!” before they said Tony’s name. I’ve been in shock since then.
I hadn’t cried until I read your note from Surferboy. Thanks for posting that.
I’ve regretted not finding out about Tony’s recent appearance at the Reagan Library until it was sold out. But it’s true - we’ll all meet him someday at a place where it can’t be sold out!
Why not have Mel write it? I’d cast Gary Sinise to play Griff.
((((((((Moonmad27)))))))
I agree that no one could fill Tony’s shoes on or off
screen, but it’s important (if they make the movie) that
people of integrity represent him. No Julia Roberts
playing Jill or other such nonsense.
As I look back through the history of our country
trying to match his character to anyone is difficult.
Tony Snow was one of a kind ... for such a time as this.
Massillon Washington High School?
I lived in Jackson Twp. and Massillon for 12 years—it wasn’t long enough! Even after 25 years in the East, Ohio is still home to me. As my husband says “You mean where you used to live”!
Sinise could be Griff, good idea.
Gary Senise as Griff - brilliant!
Mel Gibson to write and/or Direct, brilliant as well.
I know what you mean, I am thinking.... who could play Tony? Drawing a blank so far.
Yes, he does love it. I know it!
We love him.
He will always be missed until we see him again in heaven.
Sure hope they have radio, there!
