Drill For OIL HERE NOW!

This past Independence Day weekend I decided it's time to do something about the idiotic energy policies of our present democrat controlled congress. Instead of going out to see the fireworks and grill some hot dogs I stayed home and created a website based petition. I’m just a regular nobody who is trying to get a real grassroots movement going. I thought that besides just taking down folks name and email like other petitions, I would setup a nice comments feature so people can vent! Comments are very important and allow us a way to get our frustrations with Congress out there where everyone can see them! Some of the comments I've received are fantastic! People really do need an outlet for their frustrations.

I would really appreciate some help getting this off the ground in any way you think appropriate. And if possible please forward this on everyone you know!

TOPICS: Your Opinion/Questions
KEYWORDS: drillforoil; drilling; energy; energypolicy; gas; petition
You can vent your frustrations to congress here:

Drill For OIL HERE NOW!

Lets give these idiots a piece of our minds!

Please sign and pass it on!

Add to drilling: more refineries, nuclear power plants, oil shale tech., coal, natural gas, and ending the subsidies for the lunacy of corn ethanol.

Especially oil Shale.

U.S. Oil Shale Resources Are Three Times Larger Than the Current Oil Reserves in Saudi Arabia YET CONGRESS RECENTLY VOTED TO MAKE IT ILLEGAL TO DEVELOP U.S. OIL SHALE RESOURCES

With oil prices at an all-time high, Americans are facing escalating gas, diesel, and aircraft fuel increases. Oil prices are projected to increase further. Congress, however, has made it illegal to develop vast domestic oil resources in large parts of the United States. The most startling Congressional prohibition on domestic oil production concerns the recently enacted ban on the development of oil shale resources in parts of Colorado, Utah, and Wyoming in the Green River Formation. According to a Rand Study estimate, this reserve contains over one trillion barrels of oil, with 800 billion barrels fully recoverable, or three times the current oil reserves as Saudi Arabia:

"Yet, buried in a Department of Interior appropriations bill passed in December 2007 was an amendment that prevented establishing regulations for leasing land to drill for oil shale. The House passed that amendment, proposed by Rep. Mark Udall of Colorado, on June 27, 2007, by a vote of 219-215. "

It was an amendment to a large bill, buried in some kind of huge horrible energy bill that put all kinds global warming regulations on us ,including higher mileage for cars etc. Of course most Democrats voted for this amendment and the bill too. Here is the roll call vote:

http://clerk.house.gov/evs/2007/roll574.xml

The only thing that would increase oil supply significantly is if Congress would repeal the ban that Democrats put on developing shale oil in Colorado.Congress and Democrats must allow oil companies to get the trillion barrels of oil in oil shale in the western United States. But we know Democrats/Communists will not allow this. The only way is for the public to find out about this and make them do it.

This amount of oil would power every car and completely power the U.S. for hundreds of years or at least a hundred years.

I am going to email this to all the radio talk show hosts and everyone I know. If you value your way of life maybe you can also spend some minutes emailing. This Democrat Udall who introduced this ban on shale oil and the Democrats in Congress want to kill us. This Democrat Udall is a traitor.

What further proof do people need to see that government is the enemy of the people? Democrats and McCain want to bring in hundreds of millions, hordes of 3rd world foreign people and not allow us Americans to get a trillion barrels of oil in our own back yard. And we have everywhere even on this site people calling for government to further regulate the speculators and our economy .How will these evil villains in government "save" us from that which has created our great civilization , capitalism. Government surely hasn't created this civilization and surely not the government educated public which are dumb enough to trust government. When will people get it that government is the enemy that government is the problem not the solution to any problem?

Bob Schaffer should be attacking Mark Udall often about this issue and piece of legislation up and through November 4, if Bob hasn’t done so already!

Signed.

I watched a bit of CSPAN a couple hours ago over lunch. The left is sticking to the 68 million acres argument. The house looks hopelessly stuck.
