You'd think Chris Matthews might wish Howard Wolfson well on the news that the former top aide to Hillary Clinton has joined Fox News as a Dem analyst. Think again. The Hardball host has ungraciously predicted that the move to Fox could spell the end of Wolfsonand in doing so revealed his own pop-culture roots.
Here was Matthews on this evening's Hardball:
CHRIS MATTHEWS: Fox News loves presenting itself as the alternative to the other news networks. Roger Ailes, the guy behind the network, figures that the Hillary campaign needs a new home, now that she's out of the race for president. So, abracadabra, Howard Wolfson, the voice of the Hillary campaign, has just been hired byyou guessed itFox News. Wolfson has just signed a contract as a regular contributor. He told the New York Times, quote, "it is important to have a strong progressive voice on the network." Well I think it's the beginning of a beautiful relationship. Reminds me of a movie: it's called Howards End.

And Chris never started.
Matthews wishes ill on Wolfson move to Fox News. Ping to Today show list.
So Chrissy’s checking out Howard’s end?
Not surprising.
Is it just me, or is Chris Matthews getting more grotesque? He was horrible to Pete Hegseth tonight, demanding that he answer “Give me the answer! What is the answer!” when that’s what Pete was trying to do. Insisting that Iraqi comments about a withdrawal timetable vindicated every anti-Iraq war position ever taken. It was like watching someone in a loony bin from behind a one-way mirror. And you couldn’t wipe the spittle off the screen.
I also found Matthews’ hectoring of Hegseth off the charts. Pete was diplomatically making the point that this was a negotiation between two governments, yet Matthews was insisting the Iraqis’ position vindicated Obama’s view that we should get out of Iraq. The LAST thing Maliki would want would be for Obama to follow through on his, now inoperative, promise to get us out in 16 months!
That's about the depth of him, all right.
But what else would you expect from a man whose idea of greatness is John Kennedy.
Chrissy is just jealous he can no longer Lorenzo’s oil Howard’s end!
i happened to see this exchange as well and was grossed out by Matthews’ grotesque behavior. also i wondered why he thinks that only Obama wants our troops to come home. that isn’t the question, now is it. the question is: do they come home in victory and when it is safe to do so. the Dems don’t understand the difference between ending the war and winning the war which is why i tremble thinking of Dems in control of House, Senate, White House. very scary.
I suppose the tingling in Chrissy leg on this one is caused by the urine running down his pant leg.
Have you seen Crap Matthews new promo??? It pushes him as a “straight shooter”...going after the political sidwinders... Riding tall in the saddle....Hah! What a smarmy lying creep! He was one of the biggest squealing rats of the Left, not so long ago, about how Bush was an idiot for using “Cowboy diplomacy”...Like Matthews could ever muster up ...Man up into being a cowboy. These Leftie scum will even sink to try and pretend to be what they despise, to act like the Left still has “cool”...like the Left still has their souls.
Speaks volumes about the powers that be at NBC who are considering him as Russert's replacement as well as the fools at foxnews who hired Wolfson.
Foxnews continues to disappoint. Who next — Lanny Davis?
Nope. Unfortunately not the end of Wolfson. That would not be a concern to any reasonable person. More likely the continuation of the end of Fox News, the once “Fair and balanced” news service, that is rapidly becoming just another liberal network.
“Who next Lanny Davis?”
I’m guessing, the Bill & Hilliary news hours about 12 hours/day.
So you've noticed as well. I sensed the beginning of the end when they hired Greta and then Geraldo who brought the same liberal panel that bored me on CNBC. When it appeared they were the third arm of the Clinton campaign, I questioned whether my bias and utter disgust of her tainted my impressions. However, her praise of the network's coverage and now with Wolfson on board, erased all doubts. If Hume goes so will I.
