The percentage of voters who give Congress good or excellent ratings has fallen to single digits for the first time in Rasmussen Reports tracking history. This month, just 9% say Congress is doing a good or excellent job. Most voters (52%) say Congress is doing a poor job, which ties the record high in that dubious category.
Last month, 11% of voters gave the legislature good or excellent ratings. Congress has not received higher than a 15% approval rating since the beginning of 2008.
The percentage of Democrats who give Congress positive ratings fell from 17% last month to 13% this month. The number of Democrats who give Congress a poor rating remained unchanged. Among Republicans, 8% give Congress good or excellent ratings, up just a point from last month. Sixty-five percent (65%) of GOP voters say Congress is doing a poor job, down a single point from last month.
Voters not affiliated with either party are the most critical of Congressional performance. Just 3% of those voters give Congress positive ratings, down from 6% last month. Sixty-three percent (63%) believe Congress is doing a poor job, up from 57% last month.
Just 12% of voters think Congress has passed any legislation to improve life in this country over the past six months. That number has ranged from 11% to 13% throughout 2008. The majority of voters (62%) say Congress has not passed any legislation to improve life in America.

Why doesn’t this equate to the Democrats getting their asses handed to them this coming November???
...and Obama promises even MORE CHANGE...yahoo! Let the good times roll...
I’ve run the numbers, you got 535 say times it by ten for immediate and close families, and 40 for friends and sycophants.
Still seems like less than 9%. My guess, people didn’t hear the question correctly.
Irrationally exuberant expections of hopeless GovernMental psychophants!!!
Yet there will supposedly be MORE Dims in office next cycle?
I am sure the network newscasts will start off with this like they do every Bush-negative poll...............NOT
9%? Far too generous.
Amazin’ to me how they keep sayin’ how the ‘RATS will
increase their seats in the House and Senate when their
lack of approval ratings are so bad !!!
What is that all about ???
Meaningless poll. The only meaningful question is how many feel their own congresscritters are going a good job. That’s more likely to generate blank stares since I doubt 1 in 10 of those surveyed could actually name their Congressman and both Senators.
HA, while those jackals of the left are raging against Pres. Bush, etc., they have driven Congress off a cliff.
Worst Congress in history under the Reidiots and the Pelosicrats!!!!!
Yet, in November, stupid America will RUSH to vote for yet more Marxists to get that approval rating down to ZERO PERCENT!!!
These are the 8% that suckle off the gobernment teat... the paper pushers and solitaire players that toil everyday at FEMA, the NEA, the Fed, etc... you know, important crap like that.
Compared to these clowns, President Bush is the most popular man in Washington.
If I am correct, on this site, I actually read that on a poll cited by somebody, there was a statement that 48% of respondents still believed that the Republicans controlled Congress. You can’t get much dimmer than that. I might try to find that post again because it sort of correlates with what you are talking about.
the dominant media tell us there`s gonna be a democrat landslide come Nov. !?
I wouldn’t read too much into this. Democrats give them a poor rating because they haven’t enacted their socialist agenda like they said they would.
The GOP should be running adds with that statement non-stop.
But, I thought when the Democrats gained control...oh, never mind. Good job Harry and Nancy! Let’s see if we can get it down to zero you commies.
I hope we run lot's of ads near November.
“sad thing is the republicans aren’t doing much better than the dems.”
what would you say is the reason for the dissatisfaction?
Should should use this for all it’s worth but I’m not holding my breath.
