Senator Barack Obama will accept the nomination of the Democratic Party on August 28 at INVESCO Field in front of 75,000 people. Tickets will be free and the event open to the public. Ten supporters who donate $5 or more will be flown to Denver with a friend to meet Senator Obama backstage and watch history unfold.

Looks like the rumors we heard earlier were true. I posted this from the DNC website because the only story I could find was from the AP.

Will they use the vertically-directed-searchlight “cathedral of light” effect too?

If Obama loses the general election, will there be rioting in this country? People had speculated that if the Clintons did something to try to take the nomination away that there could be violence in Denver. But what about if McCain wins the general election.

Do you mean like the one at the World Trade Center site? Why would they do that?

I’m not a supporter of McCain, but if he opted to accept the nomination at a soccer stadium holding 250,000, I could care less. Big deal. It wouldn’t make him any more or less of a candidate because he did it.
Obama is unfit to be President. What does it matter if he accepts the nomination in front of 70,000 people? Will it make him fit to be president? Will it make him less fit to be president?
It’s an interesting development. I don’t think there’s anything to be gleaned from it.

I think this is a warning to the DNC not even to think about not nominating Obama. And with his mob at the gates, they’re not likely to.

Will everyone in the stadium be handed a colored placard so that the entire crowd will become a painting of a victorious Obama marching toward an heroic Maoist future in the company of Lenin, Che, Kenyatta and Ho Chi Minh?

I bet it will take two days just to clean up all of the trash from Ivesco Field after Obama’s speech.

Better get all attendees, Hep A and B vaccinations. they also would do well to wear face masks and be screened for STD’s afterwards.

What? You think they will trash the place? A stadium full of green liberals who are concerned about the environment will certainly use the trash can and the proper toilet facilities won’t they?
As an aside, I’ve heard that when stadiums are used for events such as Promise Keepers or Billy Graham events, that the clean-up job is much less than for football games and other events at those same stadiums.

I don’t think it matters that he’s accepting in front of so many people. But coupled with all his other rhetoric, it is reminiscent of fascism to a degree. But I wouldn’t vote for him if he accepted in front of 5, 100, 45000, or 1294820 people.

None of those points matter. What does matter is whipping the lazy, gooey-in-the-middle electorate into a state of frenzy and creating a superstar aura for Obama. And in a celebrity-obsessed society, it's a sure-fire way to get votes.

but the danger is only 45,000 people showing up, unless they place them all together could look pretty empty........
remember that big crowd that obomba took credit for was really from a local band, he just stepped in front of it....
