No Permanent GOP Minority
RealClearPolitics -- Articles ^ | July 07, 2008 | Robert Novak

WASHINGTON, D.C. -- When House Republican leaders left Washington for their Fourth of July break, they felt good about outwitting the Democratic majority. The feeling was not reciprocated 3,000 miles away, where conservative California Republican activists were drafting an ultimatum. The Lincoln Club of Orange County is telling GOP leaders of both the House and Senate that it is too late to repent. They must go -- or else lose big money.

The message: "Come Nov. 5, should the current GOP leadership in either house survive to lead in a new Congress, the Lincoln Club of Orange County will review the financial backing of all congressional Republicans, and we urge others to do likewise. A GOP caucus that would re-elect such leaders is not one we would likely continue to support. Because, simply put, we refuse to support a permanent minority."

I've been in that mode, Maryland style, for 2 years now.

Hasn't changed anything but I feel better for it.

Not hardly. This is a pure power play. These are open borders RINOs who believe conservatism is what is leading to "permanent minority" status. They do not care that it has been their policy preferences that got the GOP where it is.

That may well be true, but the only thing mentioned in this article is pork, GOP pork...

I have little interest in this group, my point remains the same. No money from me for the same old big government slop the GOP has been dishing out over the last too many years.

These clowns call themselves the "New Majority" (best pronounced with a Hispanic twist). These RINOs complain about "pork" but what they really want is more of it for them, whether it's Glowbill Warming, ethanol subsidies, real estate racketeering, er, "high speed rail," whatever.

Those things aren't pork, they're "investments." These guys are not even fiscal conservatives.

The Lincoln Club estimates that its nearly 300 members will individually contribute $1.5 million to federal causes and candidates in the 2008 election cycle.

This is chump change. They'd get a lot more than that if they figured out where the public stands on border control and energy development.

Are those solicitation letters? I haven’t opened one is a long time, so I don’t know. They _say_ they are my last chance or that they contain my Platinum Membership Card or that they are a survey. Some have letters from Laura or photos of Laura and George in them. At least, that is what the envelopes say.

We am keeping all junk mail for firestarter this winter, so at least we will see some benefit from them.

Wow, a whole $1.5 mil. That’s barely enough to be competitive in knocking off a single House rodent incumbent in a GOP-leaning district. One.

LOL ...

I got one from McCain the other week that requested donations starting at $1,000, and going down to "other".

Also was enclosed a black oval bumpersticker with McCain embossed in white.

I cut it in half and mailed it, along with the rest of the crap they sent, back to them in their prepaid envelope.

I shouldn’t admit it, because it makes me look childish, but one time I sent it back with a big sloppy booger on it.

Hooooooo Auuuuu. Bout damn time. I quit giving my money to these RINO pukes. I wrote to my senator, Jeff Sessions of Alabama, and gave him a mouth full. Told him I would never give a penny to the RNC again until they renounced RINOs and went back to being conservative. He wrote me back and agreed that we needed more conservatives and that we need to continue to push the conservative agenda.

Agreed. Last month I switch my registration from GOP to independent. That farm bill 100 GOP reps voted for just really irked me. Plus the fact that they look the other way while the Mark Foley's, Larry Craigs, and Don Carters are allowed to stain the GOP name. At the very least those people should be shunned, stripped of committee assignments and told they no longer were welcome in the GOP.

And we shouldn’t support Liberalism within the Republican Party, whether Comrade Juan McNuts, Olympia Snowe, or that creep from South Carolina.

It's too late for that. Once amnesty is passed the GOP will never recover, and they will win few elections after that because all of the illegals have or are going to sign on with the RAT party. Anytime you add 20 million plus new voters to a party, it's going to be next to impossible to make a come back. The GOP will be replaced with a racist latino party like La Raza or MEChA, and because they stick together we will have Mexicans in leadership positions until the end of time. Eventually, they will overtake the RAT party too. Those idiots in DC haven't got a clue what the fallout will be over amnesty. They will have (literally) turned America over to Mexico!

Mexico has already imported their criminal population to America, while at the same time we have added them to our social security program and we allow billions of dollars of tax free money to be "outsourced" to Mexico! Save your money, folks. It's not going to matter. Use it for guns and ammo, because there is no doubt that there are going to be huge race wars in America, and quite possible another revolution. I think Americans have been pushed about as far as we are going to go before we take to the streets, and render our own kind of justice.
