BOGOTA (Reuters) - French-Colombian politician Ingrid Betancourt, three Americans and 11 other hostages were rescued from leftist guerrillas by Colombian troops on Wednesday after years in captivity, the government said.
Read all your posts in this thread, you haven’t contributed anything intelligent, or even funny to it. I’m violating my “ignore the trolls” policy, but sometimes trolls provide some comic relief. Not with you, all I see is words typed on the thread saying nothing.
Please find something interesting to say or go infest another thread. Feel free to reply to this post with an insult, it is obvious you have to have the last word, just want to make sure you realize nobody finds you interesting at all.
Wow, and clueless too!
You have not yet said what Mccain did to win the release. I know you are being mean because I am not jumping for joy about Mccain unless I hear he gained the release.
I have stated, which somehow you conveniently missed, that I would apologize. Now, I would call that reasonable.
I will ignore your insults because they do not bother me. It is par for the course with you folks.
Now that is some great news, those men had been held for a very long time by Le Farce....
Welcome home fellas!
Okay. Bye now. I am still not voting for McCain.
This was a Colombian operation through and through. We provided some support, and indeed, Uribe advised McCain of the operation the night before. But this was a Colombian thing, brought about by the crack intelligence units of the Ejercito Nacional de Colombia -- not a McCain thing.
Posts like yours do nothing but unnecessarily attempt to lessen the achievement of our closest ally in this hemisphere.
I repeat: McCain had nothing to do with this. Until you can prove otherwise -- which would be when you could prove that pigs fly -- you would do well to put a sock in it, sir.
May God bless Colombia and President Uribe, may He damn FARC to hell, and may good fortune smile upon the released hostages for the rest of their lives.
Thanks for the photos.
I expect the senators had some general knowledge about the rescue efforts, even if they were unaware of the coincidental timing.
Betancourt said that when she saw the men to whom they were being transferred, they were wearing Che t-shirts, like FARC members. When she got on the helicopter, she saw the man who had been the commander of the camp on the floor of the helicopter, bound, and with his eyes covered. That's when she realized something was up, and after they took off, the men explained that they were being rescued. She said they thought they were going to bring the helicopter down because they were jumping up and down and hugging each other.
The story also said that the US govt. didn't have any part in the operation, though Uribe's govt. informed the US about it a few days ago. Uribe is really kicking butt and taking names of these rebels lately! Good for him.
“You have not yet said what Mccain did to win the release.”
He didn’t, and I never claim he did. I have no idea why you want me to explain this, and why you keep repeating the same thing over and over again.
I said that to a McCain person earlier. They kept trying to badger me and the person was repetitious.
I am sorry if I had you mixed up with another.
Good for her....bout time
“I really wish you people would just shut up when McCain does something right. You and your cronies never miss a chance to knock him, and Im really sick of it. He did a good thing. Sit down and shut up.”
McCain had nothing to do with this he just happened to be there to discuss a trade agreement. He was informed about the rescue By the President of Columbia. Read the article!
I totally agree with your comments. I think of the McCain haters in the GOP as the spoiled brat wing of the Republican Party. Their candidate lost, they didn’t get their way so they’d rather see a communist like Obama win. McCain was not my initial choice either but he will be a thousand times better than Obama.
Would you sit down and shut up if this had happened while Hillary or Obama were there and were given credit? I’m glad the hostages are free and if MC had a part in it...good for him. If this operation had already been in process though and the GOP issued orders to get MC down there then shame on us for not being objective and asking questions. Conservatives are better than that.
My pleasure. I’m glad the contractors got out, too; Northrop Grumman always had them on the company’s mind.
Excellent news!
What are the details about our guys? They are heroes in my mind. How are they doing?
McCain himself admitted he had nothing to do with it. He was briefed, nothing else per a video interview this evening.
