Some Houston residents are upset after Korans were left on the doorsteps of hundreds of homes in their neighborhood as part of a campaign to educate people about Islam.
Residents of Braes Timbers in southwest Houston began finding the holy books two weeks ago, MyFOXHouston.com reported. The Korans came with a note saying they had been left by the Book of Signs Foundation, which claims to have distributed 30,000 free copies of the texts to residents throughout the city.

As a female, I’d’ have to say that, yes, Bob, pretty much every muslim wants to enslave me. When I’d refuse to veil, they’d want to kill me.
The only reason not to burn whatever is because of a burn ban.
Books are not that sacred. The problem with “book burning” is the attempt to suppress information that others might seek. There’s no reason for me not to throw a copy of a book that I find distasteful in the trash or on the fire, if I own that copy.
We had a book of mormon that we used for some study or the other over the years. I finally threw it out because I just couldn’t bear to have in on the shelf. This, in a house with wall-to-wall books and several books on the other “Gospels,” that we also used for study.
BRAVO!!!!!
I'm pretty much against American service persons dying ANYWHERE, Bob.
Are you in favor of them dying?
(See how that works?)
Actually I'm completely in favor of them being anywhere where there are lots of muzzies to whack.
L
“All evidence to the contrary.”
You are free to leave and go to one of those Muslim countries. Coming here to a pro-American website and running this country down using lies and propaganda is nothing but another cowardly attack just as the Muslims always use.
“Actually I’m completely in favor of them being anywhere where there are lots of muzzies to whack.”
LOL! and ditto! Every dead muzzie means one less possibility of a child being used as a suicide bomber, one less woman stoned to death for having been raped, one less innocent life lost to their cowardly attacks, etc., etc., etc.
Thanks. It is about time we tell these cult loving idiots to take a hike!
Do you actually know any muslims? I do and can assure you that they neither want to enslave you nor kill you for not wearing a veil.
Just like many Christians they understand a lot of what was written 1500 years ago has to be interpreted in a modern light. Just like some Christians, they have their fundementalists who believe every word in their Holy Book must be taken literally even if that means killing.
Christianity, after a similar long period of torturing and killing pagans, witches and non-believers who would not convert, went through an agonizing reappraisal and dragged themselves into 20th century thinking and values.
Islam is going through that now (better late then never I guess). We cannot go to war with 1 billion people, nor should we try. We should however, do what we can to help hasten their own reappraisal by supporting the reformers and opposing the hardliners.
I find it pretty funny that Christians who demand respect for their religion and beliefs seem to be the first to denigrate others. Those who do this are neither being Christian nor following Christ’s teachings who said the 11 th commandment was to love others as you love yourself.
IMO that kind of hypocrisy will get you a one way ticket to hell no matter how holy or devout one thinks they are.
You’re avoiding the question because you don’t have an answer that won’t make you look like a hypocrite.
You cannot hold these opinions of muslims and islam that you’ve demonstrated here and also support our military action in Iraq to defend and assist them.
So let’s make it as easy and simple for you as possible.
Knowing that you detest and hate ALL muslims and islam, do you then also object to the US being in Iraq to help the Iraqi muslim people?
I’d buy a fake pig and stick it in my front yard with the book in its mouth.
I was referring to you.
My registration number here is like 39. I got a feeling I’ll be around a lot longer than you.
You got a mouse in your pocket?
“You got a mouse in your pocket?”
My mouse is more of man than anyone willing to accept Islam.
“My registration number here is like 39. I got a feeling Ill be around a lot longer than you.”
So, you believe FR is a little girls club. Well, I hope I wore the right color finger nail polish least I be diss’d.
I’m not sure what you mean by “accept Islam”.
“So, you believe FR is a little girls club.”
Whatever that means. I will say I think there are a lot of extremists, bigots, racists and violent people that give FR a bad name and make it a whole lot harder on the intelligent, reasonable participants. They help destroy everything that is good about this site and drive away a lot of things that could be a significant factor in addressing and defeating liberalism.
If it were me I’d boot their ass but Jim is a tolerant and nice guy...but they destroy this site.
There are also a lot of people who claim to be Christian but are nothing of the sort.
Not only that, but to read the Koran is dangerous to Muslims if not under strict interpretation guidelines of a Mullah. For generations Muslims have tried to keep the Koran only in Arabic to protect Islam.
Just to read the following part of the "holy Koran" is to know your enemy for who he really is:
Tabari VIII:122 Ishaq:515 "The Prophet gave orders concerning Kinanah to Zubayr, saying, 'Torture him until you root out and extract what he has. So Zubayr kindled a fire on Kinanah's chest, twirling it with his firestick until Kinanah was near death. Then the Messenger gave him to Maslamah, who beheaded him."
Islam is a death cult, and has declared War on the United States. We need to win this war till there is not ONE Islamic enemy left on the face of the earth. Some enemy's are truly EVIL...
The reference was to an incident of “mass” burning, a number of people burning unwanted religious books “given” to them.
IMO it’s a bad message in that context, but your right, and if Freepers want to collectively burn unwanted books given to them, that’s OK to me too,
Of course the referenced incident, search burn bibles, was Orthodox Jews in Isreal burning some New Testaments left at their doors.
Needless to say the FR reaction was quite different than what’s on this thread.
