Obama adviser links gas prices to Bush war policies By Jordan Fabian Posted: 07/02/08 01:28 PM [ET] An informal foreign policy adviser to Democratic presidential candidate Sen. Barack Obama (Ill.) on Wednesday linked high oil prices to threats the Bush administration has made against Iran.
Rand Beers, an adviser to 2004 Democratic presidential candidate Sen. John Kerry (Mass.), said a one-day $11-per-barrel spike in the price of oil was a response to potential military action threatened against Iran.
Americans need to understand that what is happening in the Persian Gulf is significantly contributing to the rising price of oil, said Beers, who serves as president of the National Security Network, which has criticized U.S. involvement in Iraq.
Beers also blamed the Iraq war for increased oil prices, noting that there has been a sevenfold increase in the price of oil since the Iraq war began.

I thought it was oil company greed? These idiots need to pick a lane.
Six-fold of that increase occurred once the Democrats took control of both Houses of Congress!
And what will oil go to when Iran explodes their first nuc test?
That’s a GREAT image!
Same old gang running Obama. Kerry and Klinton operatives. No changes in this administration. You will see all the familiar faces in the House in the D.C. Hood when Obama is elected. Same ole gang. No difference. So much for change, and new, and different. Nope. Same old Marxist group in charge of the grand Soviet government.
If we WEREN’T there, gasoline prices would be substantially higher.
Good Lord, how moronic to suggest such a thing.

Exactly!
Any informed person knows the President proposes, the Congress disposes.
The BLM just put a 2 year moritorium on building any solar power plants.
“Faced with a surge in the number of proposed solar power plants, ... until it studies their environmental impact, which is expected to take about two years. ...”
Ummm, gas is expensive because we don’t drill here and the dollar is weak. Solutions:
1) Drill offshore and in ANWR
2) Oil shale/sand and coal to oil technology
3) Build more refineries (and nuclear plants while you’re at it)
4) Stop spending ludicrous amounts of money that isn’t there
5) Stop the federal reserve from printing so much useless money and forcefully keeping interest rates artificially low
Any of those would help, but hey, when does the government ever do anything that makes sense, and when does it EVER give up regulatory power?
Beers is the same jerk that engineered the Clark-McCain military fiasco.

They are just addressing the Dem. voters.
Nobody has threatened Iran. Hillary said she would retaliate if Iran started something. Iran is doing all the threatening—several times a day.
“So much for change, and new, and different.”
But that still leaves Hope and Unity right... right?! I don’t believe your lies... OBAMA will save us!!! /sarc.
Who is this Beers anyway? Something that can be vetoed?
_____
Nonsense, Palosi said they had a plan in 2006. It just hasn't happened yet.
Beers just proves that we “little stupid people” have the answer to the problem:
drill for our own oil!! End energy dependence. Sheesh!
Beers and Obama think the answer is to kiss Iran’s butt and allow them to blow Israel off the map. Ridiculous!
Better for them than linking it to Democrat energy policies.
Didn’t Obama say that if Iran attacked Israel he’d blow them up?
