Dear General Clark,

I am copying you on this piece, which I am posting to several blogs to which I write, because I don’t need to say behind someone’s back what I won’t say to his face. Furthermore, I added the word “sickening” in the subject line for those blogs. Per “Clark hits McCain’s military credentials” at http://news.yahoo.com/s/politico/20080629/pl_politico/11425, you said

“I certainly honor his service as a prisoner of war. He was a hero to me and to hundreds of thousands and millions of others in the armed forces, as a prisoner of war,” he added that these experiences in no way qualify McCain to be president in his view:

“He has been a voice on the Senate Armed Services Committee. And he has traveled all over the world. But he hasn’t held executive responsibility. That large squadron in the Navy that he commanded — that wasn’t a wartime squadron,” Clark said.

“I don’t think getting in a fighter plane and getting shot down is a qualification to become president.”

Rush just ran a clip of Clark’s 2004 Convention speech in which he praised Kerry’s record and stated that because of his military record, Kerry was qualified to be President.

I actually agree that not every serviceman is qualified to be President. Clark for instance...

This is a major campaign mistake by the democrat party. Luckily they are so blind that I don’t think they even know yet that have made a mistake here. Keep it coming Clark. ;o)

A former General who doesn’t know the difference between a Fighter aircraft and an Attack aircraft. No wonder he didn’t have a clue in the Balkans.

Oh, of course, because everyone knows that Jon Carry had soooo much more "executive" command experience....... Weasely Clark is setting the bar at a level that NONE of the Demagogue nominees in history can meet (guess they have to nominate Clark, since he ordered all those bombings of Serbia)....... then of course there is the draft dodger Bill Clinton, who the 'Rats considered qualified...... and the pathetic Albore whose daddy landed him a journalistic gig so he'd never have to go near real combat. Not to mention Lyndon Johnson, who did a brief junket to the South Pacific as a Congressman and managed to finagle a Silver Star for being a passenger on one flight...... THAT was surely executive command experience. And now we have Obama...... oh, yes, the Demagogues really know how to put forward candidates with the best "executive" command experience in wartime.

Officers do disparage other officers. It happened recently on FR where someone claiming to be a colonel said Custer (who met a terrible end in service to his country) had it coming. And, of course, it is disgusting. And the passage of time does not diminish the offense. As far as the perfumed prince is concerned, would you expect anything more?

Clark is surely a disgrace. But I like McCain no more. McCain is not “forced” to endure anything. It's his petty ego that motivates this jihad against conservatives in the GOP, masquerading as a campaign to become president.

Obama has no executive experience, nothing he has done in the past or present could be construed as leadership in any opinion.

Clark was a disaster. His colleagues knew he was just no good and he kept getting pushed up.
Wes Clark was relieved of his post with NATO for approving the target list that resulted in the bombing of the Chinese Embassy in Sarayevo with numerous casualties.

In short, he was incompetent at his post and was forced to retire.
A General who was fired from his leadership position is now critiquing another mans leadership qualities?

There will be a lot more salvos fired in an attempt to deplete the McCain coffers by spending money on responses and keeping the public eye away from the important issues.

The most important attributes for any president is character and strength of conviction. Getting shot down may not be a prerequisite for the POTUS, but resisting torture for six years without breaking and declining an early release so as not to become a propaganda pawn speaks far more about qualifications than being an ass-kissing, arm chair general who ordered and directed the bombing of civilian targets in Serbia.
