[Kills the third party argument as well.]

The Pubs and Dems are one party, near as I can tell and the conservatives of America need a conservative party to represent them, not the GOP left for sure.

What do you do, in your own thinking,

with George Soros’ vigorous support of McChurian?

Johnny Mac reportedly met privately with Hillary supporters at his Virginia headquarters and, in response to a question about judges, said “he supported Bill Clinton with both Ginsberg and Breyer.”

Notice the writer’s perspective: “push the Court to the right?”

A McCain victory could PULL the Court to the right.

Only a leftist would consider a rightward move a push.

That's why I've decided to hold my nose and vote for JM. I'm not sure what he'll do with the SC nominations that he's likely to have but I'm dam sure what Obama would do.

The way that both parties have corrupted our government makes it absolutely imperative that the SC not be turned over to the left. Heller is a perfect case in point.

No matter who is elected-bogus nominations will need to be accorded the same treatment that was seen with the Miers nomination and the "comprehensive illegal sellout" fiasco.

Anyone who says that they aren't going to vote against Obama(for McCain) in order to send the GOP a message is cutting off their nose to spite their face.

One of the most compelling reasons I’ll vote for the WORST Republican nominee since 1972.

...let the seat remain vacant until they do.

That is has been my thinking too. A couple of empty liberal seats wouldn't hurt anything.

Wishful thinking.
McCain is still McCain. And he would be facing a Democrat Senate.
At BEST we'd get one ATTEMPT at nominating a originalist judge, then when the Democrat Senate finished crucifying him, he'd appoint Souter clones.
And that is the BEST we could hope for...

Could Push a Split Court to Right?

Considering that David Souter was suggested by Warren Rudman, the same guy advising McCain now, a more accurate headline would read : A Win by McCain Could Push a Split Court to Not Quite as Far to the Left as what the Washington ComPost wants.

You’re deranged, sir. Michelle Obama or Bill Ayers on the Supreme Court! That’s a good one.

> if the dim controlled senate (assumption on my part) doesn’t want to confirm a perfectly legitimate candidate, then let the seat remain vacant until they do <

Exactly!

If Stevens and Bad Ginsburg leave SCOTUS, perhaps all McCain should do is to nominate conservative replacements, then sit back and let the dhimms block them — time after time if need be.

At that point, even if Kennedy continues to vote with the libs, the Court would indefinitely have a working majority of conservatives, by a vote of four to three!

(This plan wouldn’t work, however, if either Stevens or Bad Ginsburg should submit a resignation “effective upon the confirmation of my successor.” But at least the current status quo would be maintained.)

What the Senate DemocRATs did to Robert Bork is what the spineless Republicans should have done to Ginsburg and Breyer.
