A Win by McCain Could Push a Split Court to Right
(Excerpt) Read more at washingtonpost.com ...
This is the line they’ll use to keep the Clinton females in the Democratic camp. The fact is that the court will only move to the righ as much as the Democratic Senate will allow. They still have to confirm.
A win by Obama will push the Supreme Court to the left...but of course, that doesn’t bother the Washington Post.
Well DUH!
Indeed.
If the Congress cared about America and had a spine
(two very very unlikely events), a series of impeachments
would move the Supreme court to the right.
The justices considered most likely to retire are Stevens and Ginsburg, how much further left can he go?
Actually a McCain win will keep the Court less left than under Obama. Anyone thinking McCain will appoint conservative justioes needs some major drug rehab. McCain justices will be big govt, pro-illegal/anti-American, and very pro-free trade/Commie China
Well, lets see:
Gerald Ford gave us John Paul Stevens,
Ronald Reagan gave us Anthony Kennedy,
and ...
GHW Bush gave us David Souter.
The Washington Post argument doesn’t hold water - you never know what a Republican President will do.
Spot on! I think I read that one of McCain’s advisors is former NH Senator Warren Rudman. Rudman was instrumental in misinforming Bush 1 when he nominated David Souter for the USSC.
What type of Senate did each of them have to work with when making these picks? Also look at what happened to Robert Bork when he was nominated.
Thank you for the first statement I've seen about the "Reality" of what type of judge(s) McCain will most likely appoint!
This is one of the most absurd reasons I've seen any of you LOTE's use to justify voting for this rino because of his potential SC picks being right of what Obama's picks would be, when they'll most likely resemble Souter's or Kennedy's.
If only there was a reward in Congress for SAVING AMERICA,
rather than the usual financial kickbacks for “selling it out”.
How, if the next U.S. Senate is still a majority of both Democrats and “RINO” Republicans? The U.S. Senate truly needs a majority of actual conservative U.S. Senators, if any conservative judges are actually going to be successfully appointed to any and all future vacancies.
This is why that it is imperative that John McCain become the next president. If Obama picks the next SC judges, this country is doomed.
That was my first thought! (and this is my first post!)
Great post!
I thought Fred Thompson was going to be one of McCain's SCOTUS advisors? He helped Roberts and Alito get on board IIRC.
One thing is for sure, if McCain is elected and Ginsberg and Stevens bail, and McCain nominates and wins on two conservatives, that alone may be worth all the other idiocy we are likely to get from Maverick....maybe...
McChurian is our best chance given the givens . . .
however, that chance is . . . somewhat equivalent to a candle’s chance in a hurricane.
He will help insure that yet another dyed-in-the-wool globalist or 3 are firmly entrenched in the Court.
The JUDGE we need to be playing to & pleading to as a country is FAR above the whole lot of the DC nest of globalist/socialist/Marxist traitors . . . FAR, FAR ABOVE the whole planet.
