Emily Nordling has never met a Muslim, at least not to her knowledge. But this spring, Ms. Nordling, a 19-year-old student from Fort Thomas, Ky., gave herself a new middle name on Facebook.com, mimicking her boyfriend and shocking her father.
Emily Hussein Nordling, her entry now reads.
With her decision, she joined a growing band of supporters of Senator Barack Obama, the presumptive Democratic presidential nominee, who are expressing solidarity with him by informally adopting his middle name.
The result is a group of unlikely-sounding Husseins: Jewish and Catholic, Hispanic and Asian and Italian-American, from Jaime Hussein Alvarez of Washington, D.C., to Kelly Hussein Crowley of Norman, Okla., to Sarah Beth Hussein Frumkin of Chicago.
Jeff Strabone of Brooklyn now signs credit card receipts with his newly assumed middle name, while Dan OMaley of Washington, D.C., jiggered his e-mail account so his name would appear as D. Hussein OMaley. Alex Enderle made the switch online along with several other Obama volunteers from Columbus, Ohio, and now friends greet him that way in person, too.

I think it's exactly what he wants. What's really the central point of this story? That "Obama is not a Muslim." The same applies to that WaPo story about the email and FR yesterday: "Obama is not a Muslim."
The two main media arms of his campaign, the NYT and the WaPo, are getting the word out, so Obama doesn't have to actually confront the facts (and risk losing Muslim support) that he was born a Muslim, registered in school in Indonesia as a Muslim, received instruction in Islam as a child, and has many relatives in Africa that are Muslims.
Looks like they support a literal translation.
Rev 13:17 And that no man might buy or sell, save he that had the mark, or the name of the beast, or the number of his name.
Rev 14:11 And the smoke of their torment ascendeth up for ever and ever: and they have no rest day nor night, who worship the beast and his image, and whosoever receiveth the mark of his name.
Likely, the females they know are very liberal....
I don't remember that line either. It had FAR less meaning then than it does now.
I can imagine their disconnect to this when they are asked about it during a job interview. Especially by someone who loves America.
I know a few Kentucky dads. One papaw and daddy ain’t proud.
And Barry, that's not enough.
Obliviously, the 19 year old Emily doesn't care, as she is blissfully unaware that only a month ago, many parts of her state voted for Barry in the single digits.
George Caldwell: I don't think we're going to make it past the cops.
Grover Muldoon: We'll make it past the cops. I just hope we don't see no Muslims.
How apropos.
A very good example of young skulls full of mush.
This has to be the dumbest article I’ve ever read, a complete waste of time, who cares what these extremist fans of the messiah have to say.
The more things change the more they stay the same. Cult of personality
..hope you don't see no Obama volunteers too.
I am ashamed to a part of the generation that is currently in college. Hopefully at 24 I’m just above the cutoff. These twits better wise up fast. Perhaps trying and failing to make a buck will help.
second from the left and on the far right, right? perhaps the one in the pink shirt too!
It looks better, but the whole one picture from 1942, and one picture from 2008 thing just can’t fully mesh.
Even if all of chelsea's friends suddenly called themselves "ugly" just to take the stigma off of chelsea, chelsea would still BE ugly.
"A rose by any other name would smell as sweet."
Let's call Barry Hussein Obama "Bob." Y' just KNOW that'll fix the whole thing!!
I humbly offer my thanks to you for this very kind prayer. God Bless you.
I'll use that one for my spams...
