A 17-year-old South Carolina boy on an church outing was killed Saturday when he was struck by the popular "Batman the Ride" at Six Flags Over Georgia. It was the second Batman ride-related death at the Cobb County park.

Before it was okay to use AP material. But now it’s banned? What hapened?
It is the end times. Deal with it.
Its not 2012 yet though!
Lots of things not in the archives.
I, as a caring human, can feel sympathy for the parents, and loved ones of a 17-year-old boy, and abstain from posting stupid comments in a forum without believing it is compassionate to kill the innocent unborn.
Is it really that difficult to understand?
I didn't say that and neither did the article I linked to.
I, as a caring human, can feel sympathy for the parents, and loved ones of a 17-year-old boy,...
Which accomplishes nothing other than reinforcing the making of stupid choices.
... and abstain from posting stupid comments in a forum without believing it is compassionate to kill the innocent unborn.
I don't know how you managed to work the abortion card into this but you've have long since passed the point of abstaining from posting stupid comments. In fact you worked one right into that statement. LOL
"The "compassionate" left would rather have us believe that the detainees at Guantanamo, the murderers and rapists in our prisons, the violent Palestinians and other Islamo-fascists are the rightful and primary objects of our care and concern.
Idiot compassion invents Miranda rights to protect criminals from prosecution rather than allowing police powers to protect innocent citizens.
Idiot compassion is so concerned with the rights of terrorists that it sabotages legitimate Patriot Act procedures designed to protect Americans from murderous organizations.
Idiot compassion is so fearful that one innocent man might be imprisoned that it helps enact laws that insure freedom to thousands of certainly guilty ones, by disallowing evidence obtained against them.
Idiot compassion is so deeply concerned with the feelings and freedom of young women, that it goes to great lengths to insure that these young women are allowed to destroy their unborn children, rather than endure the hardship of responsibility for their sexual conduct."
"Which accomplishes nothing other than reinforcing the making of stupid choices."
The sympathy I expressed is for the "parents and loved ones" of the boy. Read it slowly, maybe it will become clearer to you and you can explain the 'stupid mistakes" they made.
"I didn't say that and neither did the article I linked to."
Try removing your cranium from your rectum before you try to post again.
I do not mean to confuse you with big words. The cranium is the part of the skull that encloses the brain and the rectum is, well try finding a dictionary if you can not figure that one out.
There’s nothing funny about a Darwin Award either but they are earned all the time.
The article was being used as a definition of the difference between true compassion and idiot compassion. I didn't intend that the specific examples given in the article, which was written to address a different topic, were directly applicable to this discussion. That is fairly obvious.
The sympathy I expressed is for the "parents and loved ones" of the boy.
Nice try at narrowing this discussion down to one thing you may have expressed here after you joined right in with the slamming those who didn't have your approved style of sympathy for the ignorance that caused his parents and loved ones the suffering in the first place. Your comment on what compassion is was directed at them and you can't separate yourself from that by revising your position now. Most of your comments were directed at them not your "compassion" for his parents.
Try removing your cranium from your rectum before you try to post again.
That is a good example of the mentality of one who offers gushing expressions of sympathy while simultaneously attacking and condemning others for expressing a lack of sympathy for ignorant actions. You obviously couldn't even discern the difference between true compassion and idiot compassion when spelled out in detail. It is no surprise then that you are one of those parading around your false face of caring for others while lashing out in vicious angry self-righteousness.
Your self-proclaimed moral and intellectual superiority leaves me unimpressed. You are clearly lacking in both. ; )
"Here is a good definition of your version of compassion."
"Most of your comments were directed at them not your "compassion" for his parents."
You are the one confused about the expression of compassion for the parents and loved ones. See, the boy died (please reread the article) so it is of no value to have compassion for him. He will not make that or any other mistake again, only you are confused about that fact.
"It is no surprise then that you are one of those parading around your false face of caring for others while lashing out in vicious angry self-righteousness."
I notice that you did not respond to the fact that you could not even understand that abortion was part of the original article you posted. Trying to gloss over another stupid post?
"Your self-proclaimed moral and intellectual superiority leaves me unimpressed."
Actually, I never posted anything about moral superiority or indicated that the original poster should have compassion for anyone. The original posts addressed the inability of someone to "have enough intelligence to keep their stupid remarks to themselves."
Continuing prayers for your son LADYAK.
Please keep her son in your prayers. (See post #5)
It’s sad that a supposed-to-be-fun trip for a church group ended like this. It’s sad that a young man’s life is over so soon. I’m sorry to hear about his death, no matter what the circumstances. I feel terrible for his family, his friends, the ones who may have witnessed this, bystanders and riders.
However, at 17, or even at 7, I wouldn’t have climbed two fences and passed under an operating roller coaster to retrieve ANYTHING. I can pretty much be assured that my two sons, one adult and one almost, wouldn’t have done it either. They know the fences are there for a reason. Yeah, they’ve done some dumb stuff already, but nothing like this. In fact, they know to leave anything on the loading platform before riding, as once it’s gone, it’s gone for good. My husband says, dumb as he might have been as a teen, he wouldn’t have gone under any rides or tracks at an amusement park, climbing safety fences to get there.
After seeing how foul-minded and hateful your previous post was I don’t need any more lessons, on any subject, from you.
I come to the event from a different perspective...
In this case - you have a 17 year old — who figures he doesn’t need to enter the park in the prescribed manner, and in the process of committing a trespass - ignores multiple signs warning him of hazards ahead, climbs two fences to commit the trespass and then isn’t aware enough to recognize or acknowledge the hazard he has approached and get his inattentive head knocked off..
Odds are high that the family will sue for millions, because the park didn’t make this hazard IDIOT proof.
This death, sad though it is - doesn’t warrant the national press and universal grief...
On the other hand -— many 17/18 year olds are killed in uniform, fighting a war their Nation has asked them to fight..
I have NEVER seen this level of national Media attention devoted to the individual sacrifice of THESE young men....who clearly DESERVED the attention, sorrow and recognition...
Instead — once a year we roll them all into one body bag and celebrate Memorial Day - and party.
Sorry - but as unfortunate as this accident was — it doesn’t rise to the level to serve as anything more that a reaffirmation that stupid or criminal acts have consequences....some quite deadly.
This kid learned the hard way..
If that makes me a sorry SOB -— so be it..
I’ve been called worse.
I’ve seen too many brave and honorable youngsters zipped into body bags - to have any compassion for this Darwin candidate.
Has enough time passed to write, “One Frag, No Fun”
That's a good one.
You might want to hesitate before hitting the 'post' button again when jumping into someones discussion. You can save yourself a lot of embarrassment. Hope I did not hurt your feelings by pointing out your own posts. I know it always hurts the most when it is your own words that prove your ignorance.
You have yourself a real good Sunday, or at least what is left of it.
You’ve got to be kidding? You have yet to be right about a single thing. Even your ad-hominem is light weight. You enjoy your self-congratulatory attitude. I’m sure it will return you what it is worth.
You have a kewl pic of your lovely family too..
