Two different kinds of violence
Yesterday's article "Because only Spartan women give birth to real men." has produced quite a lot of notice and controversy. Some of the nutroots have come across it, and have showed up to add to the comment thread. And now, as is sometimes the case, the comment thread is almost as interesting as the original article.
It's of a decent size, and there are a lot of ideas in it. And certainly there's no reason to give oxygen to the people who can't do any better than things like "cornhole" and "You guys are such a bunch of fags."
There was, however, one meme that was evident. Many in the thread were too blinkered to recognize that the article was a metaphor for resistance to the ideology of the left, not a call for actual violence. They decried this alleged "call" for violence. Fancying themselves "anti-war" and "against violence," they decry movies like this which have a strong martial element.
I was forced to explain to people in the thread two things.
First, the article is a metaphor. M-E-T-A-P-H-O-R.
Second, while we (collectively) do not have a record of political violence against them, the left and the Democrats both have a long, bloody record of violence against us. Against Republicans and conservatives here, and against anyone who opposes the left elsewhere. It's a record we've been researching for the last two years.
I thought the contrast was interesting, and though it doesn't apply to everyone on the left, this fact is clearly indicative of a rot in their ideology:
They so often decry the necessary violence of noble causes, and yet they have a history of using petty, thuggish violence to serve their own venal agenda.
They mock warriors fighting against evil. They mock those who support those warriors. But they'll punch a girl in a wheelchair with cerebral palsy. They'll fire shots at Republican headquarters. They'll slaughter hundreds of Republicans for no other reason than that they are Republicans.
When it comes to different kinds of violence, it seems like many of them have it exactly backwards.
No - democrats are bullies and like to attack people who can not or will not fight back...

Unless yer talkin’ ‘bout 150 million dead people killed in Soviet and various Marxist pogroms of the last century. Oh, don’t fergit the Nazi thing - maybe the left’s most ambitious project yet.
Anyone with a Che T-Shirt, and the “liberal” next to the guy with the TShirt, support the killing of innocents for their ideology.
