CNN: Computer Illiterate McCain Too Stupid to be President

On Thursday, CNN's Jeanne Moos made the case that because John McCain is not computer savvy, he's not qualified to be president. She even disgracefully quipped -- as a video of a stripper appeared on the screen! -- "At least John McCain knows the difference between a laptop and a lap dance."

Not surprisingly, she also took the time to demonstrate just how much of a techie Barack Obama is while adding a dash of Bush-bash.

MOOS: While Cindy McCain has been spotted scrolling her BlackBerry, John McCain tends to be handed a BlackBerry to talk on. Barack Obama, on the other hand, is one of those guys so intent on reading his BlackBerry that he could run into something.

He is a BlackBerry fiend says his spokesperson. Has a laptop on the road and sometimes uses it to talk to his daughters and surfs the Web when he is in need of important information such as sports scores.

Would the fairness doctrine require CNN to put on something intelligent 12 hours a day to balance out the absolute stupidity they display at every other time?

This is the best the left can do?

LOL!

Be afraid. Remember Dan Quayle and the potato.

IIRC, Quayle went to a school for a photo op. He was asked to participate in a spelling bee. He was handed a card reading: "Potatoe" and he asked a child to spell potato. The child said "P-O-T-A-T-O". Quayle looked at the card he had been handed and said that the child had spelled the word wrong.

Conclusion: Dan Quayle was a moron who was incapable of serving as VP.

Obama uses a blackberry more than McCain??? Lord! Why even have an election -- we have found our winner!!

given that he's never held any type of executive position

I would definitely count his Navy command(s) as executive positions.

I would want a source other than CNN as to what McCain's computer skills actually are.

That said, I still have a few very successful colleagues in their 50's and 60's who are computerphobes.

My parents also refuse to use computers, but that's another story . . . .

Most elderly people I know get into computers because they love to be able to e-mail with their families.

Wait a minute...

Obama surfs the Internet to get information? But...but...I thought he already instinctively know things by virtue of him being the Messiah?!

I’d like to see Barack make a carrier landing. At night.

What you say is true. This stuff makes Mccain look old and outdated.

Face it, Obama is slick as hell, it may lead us to hell, but he is slick and making all the moves.

Oh McCain, where are you? Hello....hello.....

LOL. I read this as Jeanne moo’s. That’s not spelled correctly (it would be Jeanne moos, I think, but the point comes across better above).

Jeanne Moos is the model for the joke about “shaving the hair of of your dog’s butt and teaching him to walk backwards”

Jeanne Moos....nobody pays any attention to that ditz.........

I actually have enjoyed and laughed at her little pieces over the years. She tends to show most city people as clueless to the real world we live in.

As far as this particular report. Maybe there's a lot of people like McCain who can barely cope with email. My wife for one.

I'd like to see Obama trip while reading his Blueberry. Could be a Kerry in the bunny suit moment.

Never saw JFK or FDR using a computer either. Were they unqualified?

I saw Obama and wife on the cover of US magazine in the check-out aisle today. Both glossy and made-over with cocaine star quality appeal; yes, they would have to be computer literate and having the hippest computer to boot. I’m waiting for the day I’ll see pictures of them entering rehab just like all the other stars — posing with Lindsey Lohan and Brittany, Boy George singing commie, commie, commie chameleon...

A Pres shouldn’t be on computer, on the Internet. He would have staff and would need to ask somebody or just yell down the hall and the answer would be directly forthcoming. The last Pres to answer the White House phone himself was Eisenhower.

There are all kinds of improvements going on now all the time. I just got a wonderful demonstration--you all heard And Marsha, the lady who showed me, was terrific; I learned a lot and I was--if I hadn't been late I would still be out there fiddling with the computer to prove that even I could do it, a total computer illiterate. |Laughter~ There are some things we can do. But I believe with all my heart, having studied this now for years and years, that we cannot fix these problems unless we have a national response, not a national health care system run by the Government but a national response. The Government of the United States needs to reorganize the health care system to keep what's best and fix what's wrong. And make no mistake about it, there are a lot of things that are great about our system: the doctors, the nurses, the medical research, the technology, the advances.

Actually I am not concerned about McCain lack of knowledge with computers. I don’t think that disqualified him. However, McCain not knowing the difference between a Shi’ite and a Sunni, mistaking Putin for a German, and a long list of other gaffes is serious - along with a long list of baggage.
